That Camelot junk is NOT "Clouse". Some of the best Clouse blood was crossed with Tonka and owned by the Otter. Some other modern remnants were owned by Miss Jean and also Martin owned and bred some.

Don't know about the line, but here's a newb question; what does PR mean? I see it on a lot of pedigrees of OFRN dogs, haven't made a guess as to what it may be.

PR stands for purple ribbon bred.
Purple Ribbon-bred dogs have six generations of known ancestors and all 14 ancestors within the last three generations must be registered with UKC (indicated by all 14 ancestors having registration numbers)

You see it on a lot of OFRN that dont really meet pitbull standards as well. A lot of the Bryants peds have PR. Those camelot dogs are hideous, some argue though its due to another breeder taking the line over and breeding only for size, but some of the originals were huge as well.

now I know these are mainly show lines correct but is there a possible way of having a ambully in this type of pedigree? I have a lot of blue hippo owners claiming that this is the background of their dogs so I am just very curious if you or anyone would mind?

Thats because the UKC and other registrys are still registering those ugly blue hippo's . Its all about the $$$ to the registrys.

    The dogs considered "
Clouse" of old were known for deep gameness. The straight stuff lacked the ability to stay with modern fastlane comp. Therefore all of the more recent competition animals have been crossed mainly into strains of Tombstone/Bolio. Clouse' Big Boy and Clouse' Butcher Boy and Jean's Bama Boy are 3 of the more reknown older straight bref dogs. Hope this helps in your research. I would give you some more information. But I'm at work and can only type what I remember.

The Clouse line was built around Stabber and Butcher Boy who were both HEAVY ofrn . Clouse also took his Staber/Butcher Boy stuff and crossed into alot of Hemphill stock witch is also OFRN.

Cid's sire Rowdy's pedigree is a good example of the later Clouse stuff a blend of Staber/ButcherBoy/Hemphill.

None of the abominations listed in the original post have anything to do with Clouse dogs. Bert Clouse's dogs were down from an interesting mix of English and Irish bloodlines. Some of Clouse's mentors were George Saddler and Joe Corvino. Mr. Clouse began breeding dogs in the early 40's. Clouse bred and campaigned his dogs. Others used Clouse dogs for hunting as well. For example, Ch. Clouse's Big Boy (4 x) won two with Clouse and two with Wiz Hubbard (including a win over Wallace’s Pistol Pete). Big Boy was a good producer, as was Clouse's Staber.

Along with breeding and proving his own family of dogs, Bert Clouse was a renown handler and conditioner. To gain a winning advantage, many would seek out Clouse to condition and handle their dogs. Bert Clouse was very active in the pit and went almost 20 years without a defeat. The last dog Bert Clouse conditioned and handled was Carver’s Tye. Tye won his championship with Bert.

In the late 50's, Mr. Clouse added blood via the Ch. Butcher Boy dog (Trice breeding, down from Clyde Mason) and the proven game Skaggs' Firefly bitch (Hemphill breeding), which were not true outcrosses, as that blood was related to Clouse’s core stock.
Clouse took offspring from those Butcher Boy/Firefly mixes and bred them back into his original stock, which eventually lead up to his last stud dogs, Clouse's Judge and Clouse's Humpy. Dogs bred from Clouse were mostly dark brindle or brindle/white. Some were red brindle with an occasional buckskin or red.

Bert Clouse passed away in 1982. He kept control if his stock all the way up until his death. After Clouse passed on, Michael Martin bred Clouse dogs to some heavy red nose stock. Much of the dogs going forward from Martin’s breedings were red, red nose. Other breeders crossed Clouse blood into the Hemphill/Wilder family.
The Martin breedings and Clouse x Wilder breedings are what have lead the newer generation of fanciers to conclude that original Clouse dogs are red/red nose or down from straight OFRN stock. Not true.

Dogs down from Martin’s breedings were used with good success in some working yards (Mickel, etc) but perhaps no other breeder has captured the essence of Clouse’s intentions, better than KZB.

Would you agree that the Clouse dogs were known for deep gameness? All the once I've seen tend to be freakishly strong, and rough. Not to say these dogs aren't deep game but I would describe the dogs as rough because that trait stands out more than the gameness. That being said most of my experience is with dogs that have some out to them. Either by way of Mayfield blood or Bolio blood. Adding the clouse to these lines tends to lead to dynamic animals.

I also agree that KZB has done an outstanding job with maintaining that blood.

could you show a ped of a clouse dog that kzb has? growing up(less than 8 miles from Berts house) my neighbor had a big buckskin male that he said he got from Bert. I asked if he could show me a ped on him but it was years after he died and he didnt know where it was. Im curious about the modern day working clouse dogs.
