Where Will Peyton Go.

Primetime was the best cover guy I ever seen.He could really shut down a receiver.I also like Green,he was more physical then Deion and very fast.I like Walter Payton as a running back.I thought Payton had it all and was so much fun to watch. Montana was very hard to beat as QB.He was at his best under pressure in big games and he made everyone better around him.

 

Was lucky to see Walter throughout his whole career. For some reason every time I watched him he didn't do a lot. Barry Sanders was the better back in my opinion. But, I'm partial to the running style and frame of Earl. The kind of back that D lineman in the fourth quarter, cannot lift there arms to tackle.

 

The only two problems I have with Deon are; first, he was a Cowboy lol. Second, he wouldnt tackle to save his life! Green was just as good a cover back IMO, and would at least hit people with the ball. B. Sanders was a great back, as well as Peyton. Sanders was definitely better at making tacklers miss, but Peyton could also lower his head and run tackers over. Not sure who I would chose between the two.

 

I think you meant Earl not Peyton as the one lowering his head and running over people, LOL. I hear what your saying about D. He was not a tackler. He finished up with the Boys. You cannot fault him for ending his career there. I agree that anyone that plays for that franchise is tainted.

 

No, I was comparing Walter Payton with Barry Sanders. Walter had the ability to make a would be tackler miss, but would lower his head to get the extra yard or two, when he needed to. Sanders was just an ankle breaker lol.
Earl Campbell? Well,,, he was on a whole different level as those guys.Short, stocky, and strong power back, that usually required more than one tackler to get him down lol. Damn, that man had thighs as big as the average man's waist, at 34"! Imagine Deon seeing Campbell heading right for him lol

Now in the NFL is a passing league and teams are using 2 or 3 running backs which running back is going to have a big year?

 

It is not so much that it is a passing league. It is the money and the cap. You cannot pay a feature back all kinds of cash any longer. The reason is if he goes down, your screwed. You take a cap hit and you don't have the money to sign another.

As far as who do I think will have a big year in the upcoming season. Good question. I think Frank Gore will be Giant this year with the addition of Jacobs.
