The Great Debate Continues: Did Bullyson Quit?

This Made Interesting Debates on PBC, so i thought id post it over here and the fellas could have at it!!
this is an already existing thread @ PBC and im crossposting it here.

"So after reading up on Bullyson, it seems to me that many old timers vouch for bullyson not being a cur. I've recently read an excerpt about bullyson that states he went in injured because he had gotten into a fence fight and messed up many of his teeth, his blood count was half of what it should be due to exhaustion, and that he was sick during the convention. Due to the combination of all three, he simply was physically unabled to scratch, this is according to the article. What do the doggers here think?"

 

There could be numerous excuses of his heath condition before the show...and there are many variables to consider. Now for me..whether he quit or not holds no value as that was way back in the past and his line has been established through out the years none the less....and has proved to be a very dominating bloodline!

my concern isnt whether he quit or not, cuz thats what happened.......but......my debate is with the folks that consider him cur!

my debate was on the other site so ima spectator in this one, im curious to what the fellas got to say.........

 

whats the debate? is he a cur or not? isn't that the same as asking if he quit or not? sorry bit confused.

yes he was stopped.

 

Correct me if im wrong but Bullyson was the one who quit on all fours right?
I like what the other guy said on PBC, if a dog quits on all fours its a cur.

Its a difference between "STANDING" the line and not being physically able to scratch ie released and fell to the floor! "Standing=cur" "On the floor= out classed" IMO:cool:

 

yes he quit, yes he lost. but look at the circumstances.

naus, my debate on the other forum was that bullyson was no cur, eventhough he quit on all fours, the odds were stacked against him before the fight even began.

so yes he was stopped, but the debate is......does that make him a cur?

Alot of oldtimers seen something in that man eating cur. Seen something worth breeding. Thay bred him and Ill be damned if those oldtimers dident get a solid FAMILY of dogs built on that man eating cur. the rest is all bullshit IMO. None of us was there. Also he quit to his son. Who by all accounts was a bad ass bulldog. One that could have curred manny a champs that never went into a dog like benny bob. jmo.

On top of that Bullyson was an older dog faceing a dog who was in his prime. Just another factor to consider .

 

Sorry LWG i respect you as a dogman but we cant start making excuses for dogs that quit it in a loseing situation its eather you lose game outclassed or you quit and bullyson quit so he was in fact he's a cur!

 

Dogs arnt machines and the only dead game bulldogs are dead.

 

Its pretty dumb that bullyson gave his heart and game in the pit, then he gets labled a cur by some. Cant he just be a GL? (this may be a stupid question)

 

what do you think about the weight difference red?

why was it that they couldnt get anything else hooked except a larger dog?


why did don refuse to ride home with marty reed & ok shorty that night, then they found the two in a corfield with theyre heads blown off?

why did don lock himself in the house and go crazier than a shithouse rat around that time?

an furthermore, why did (one of the wives not sure which) go to maurice with a bottle of pure nicotine sulfate and confess what was already known.

now im not jumpin in to another debate, but its something to thing about if you put the puzzle together.

 

I also dont believe that the oldtimers were makeing excuses.I think it was more like yeah he quit. You wanna get a dog off him or not? if not Kick rocks we will see ya in the box.

them there are questions for the oldtimers. I wouldent even speculate. We may never know.
