Animal Planet probes dogfighting culture

Animal Planet will kick off a new series of investigative specials Monday night with a no-holds-barred look into the underground culture of dogfighting.

“Animal Planet Investigates: Dog Fighting Exposed” will probe the secretive world of organized dogfighting, with rare footage and commentary from law enforcement officers and former dogfighters. The special examines cases across the United States, including Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Michigan and New York.

“By bringing viewers the true and uncensored reality behind dog fighting, we intend to raise public awareness about this cruel and inhumane practice,” says Marjorie Kaplan, president and general manager of Animal Planet.

“The brave men and women working tirelessly to expose and dismantle these fighting rings are using daring tactics and thanks in large part to their efforts we were able to share this powerful story with our viewers in an in-depth and unprecedented way. Some of the images might be tough to take, but it’s vitally important that these stories are told.

The hour-long show is the first in a quarterly series of specials on the network that will investigate animal issues.

It premieres Monday at 10 p.m.

yeah i saw that pit boss shit for the first time last night. i watch bout 3 minutes and couldn't take it anymore. It would be nice of some people on here who knew each other pretty well got together and made a real life documentary. Of course keepin your identity secret. People should know its not just letting dogs fight to the death. That there are rules and the dogs are loved more than most pets...

While I agree to a point, for understanding, your BASE target audience is going to be the Right Wing south east region, God Fearing gun loving and flag waving Americans..

Philosophy brought to people in a intelligent and common sense approach will help people understand the professional sport. If done properly, a lot of people can be won over, I've done these 'arguments' many times, when people are talked to in a clam, realistic and just common sense way and just talking about the basic truth that things are done with respect to the dogs and that NOONE can force a dog to win, and it takes a dog WANTING to be there.....

What ALSO must be in this doc. Is what WE as(game dog fancier's) are against, and things that set the pro's apart from street trash and that RULES are strictly adhered to....... I'd be willing to help or do anything to get this type of msg across if a few folks want to get together, let's do it.... Freedom Of Speech is to protect what people DON'T want to hear but MUST respect that even what is Unpopular has every right to be heard, if the folks that want to tell are willing to tell it....

First I ever heard of it was on this forum.Second place was on another forum.I've never personally met anyone that has ever met anyone that knew somebody that ever done it.If that makes sense,lol

 

Personally,I think trunking is about as ridiculious as it gets.I think HSUS invented it.
