no matter how your breeding. the ultimate goal is for the offspring to be better then sire/dame. there's no point to inbreeding if you ain't getting good result. when your breeding your own dogs there's going to be inbreeding to some degree. i'd never do bro/sis but offten half/siblings or grandfather to granddaughter and got good result.

that seems to be a common trend... inbreed off real good dogs... get lesser offspring that produce really well.

My first experiences with breeding was with a tight bred Bert Sorrel dog that showed inbred traits, bad air,no mouth, not the best structure, a bit insane, and seriously game. I outcrossed him twice to well bred, but shit, bitches to get good quality working dogs. i also bred him back to one of his daughters to get one of the best males he ever produced. That dog was very intelligent, strong and surprisingly, had good air.

Saint Your Right about that. your post reminded me that i forgot to mention that we have always tried to select on type and coloratin as wel(trowbacks). This way you get tighter dogs in lesser generations reducing Genetic variation..Compeard when you random breed reguardles of type and coloration. In that case The pedegree ofthen looks tighter but the dogs are not as tight as people think they are.
Ben brocton i Have very rarly seen beter dogs come out of inbred combinations compeard to the parends , unless they came from crosses ore light line breeding in the first place..Having said that this is mostly bassed on our own blood!!,, Line breeding as you mentiond is a saver beter way of breeding in the long runn .
our toughts about in breeding is to lock on , on out standing individuals and ore to hold on to a good producing gene pool. Not nessersary for performance animals. Line bred dogs are a beter way of doing that yes. here is a aczample of continued line AND breeding with a ocasional cross(chek Solomon Luther,s ped) http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=328280

The Kin pin dog is one awesome Animal has perfect conferamtion superb workload is ecstreemly smart. and will be our future main stud dog. his only flaw is that he is a big sucker 56lbs alligator size.. The start of his fam ped is 8/9 gennerations douwn the line. Her is his first planned breeding this year at 6 years old . http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=431596 (im sorry i like these breeding subjects).

I have seen and heard of all sorts of inbreeding on one line and only once did I hear of a bit of a problem, nothing too major. the dog was 10X on a certain good male, it was undershot, had a short muzzle but a huge head. Other than that it was OK

The truth of the matter is brutal honesty with ones self and there dogs. It's simple enough to breed for color & looks that's a no brainer. There is no reason to breed whether it be inbred,cross,ect... the only reason should be in hopes to better the dogs being bred or to lock in what is already great about the dogs being bred. The way to go about it is to breed, keep all of them go tru them, and see if they are true. At a certain point if you are breeding your own family then you will know what works , and what doesn't. This in written text seems easy enough , but in reality it is a lot of hard work, dedication, time, determination, heart ache, head ache,elation,resources,ect... AND A TRUE LOVE FOR THE DOGS, a life long journey. I can't even count the fly by night wannabe dogmen/women that have come and gone. Some have even come back just to then leave once more.lol Some come looking for fame others for money, but the real ones do it because of the love for the dogs. To answer your ? yes I have and many others have had great results from inbreeding. It's one of the tools that every breeder worth their salt has done. It is only one of the tools in the bigger scheme of things that is called breeding. I'm not here to pass on any profound advice or give anybody an epiphany. I just felt like stating my thoughts on the question asked. I rarely try and put words to print. I usually just troll around on these forums to read some of the outrageous banter that goes on. I have a concept for you all. How about getting some of the books that some of these past breeders have so kindly wrote. So that you can gain some real knowledge. There are so many great books out there to read. Ask Iron Mike he says he has one of the biggest libraries on bulldogs ask him which ones he would recommend. Sorry for rambling on. I'm not an English teacher so please if I have made any grammatical errors please forgive me.

P.S If you are trying to get into the dogs for any other reason than for the preservation/love/betterment of the bulldog.(REAL BULDOG) don't please. There are way to many experts already.

Oso was bred naturally many times because of how he produced. But he was not peddled, mainly bred to Cardenas, Morfin, Flores and Boudreaux gyps, not to the public. Look at Frisco, Mayday, Jeep, Tab offspring and you will see K9 viagra.

Would it be fair to say that some dogs/lines are more easily inbred with success than others?
