Does any one know if a regular treadmill can or should be modified for a dog?Is there any dangers I should know about?I am planning on sealing the sides & welding a bar across the top to put a chain on to secure the dogs while they are running.

you should monitor the dog constantly while it is on the treadmill mainly....

I have a "people" treadmill for my dogs. The only danger is not having a wide enough belt and a toe nail getting caught in the side. I like it because of the speeds and incline. It is also easier for me to put away because mine fold in a way.
Also it is fairly simple to seal the sides so I don't think you will have a problem modifying it to your liking.
