Traveling to Altitude

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by LittleRedKennels, Oct 27, 2010.

  1. I'd like to know your opinions on traveling to altitude to compete.

    Have you done this before?

Normally training at altitude has an distinct advantage over training at sea level.

    Thanx

We do it all the time. Training in hot humid weather and then going to altitude higher than Denver. It's best to get there the day before and not 2-3 days before. If you want to acclimate you will have to get there at least ten days before. Many greats like Zorro, Comino and Candy have got it done against locals at these high altitudes. Hot and humid is just as bad.
