To all my rowdy friends,

Discussion in 'Introductions' started by all4vols283, Jul 29, 2007.

  1. Hello from TN!!! I'm new and wanted to say a tad about my reason for joining before posting or replying. I grew up with an APBT close by til I was almost 10 and my folks farmed her when we moved to the city. I've always loved the breed since that first dog and I look forward to getting another - soon.

Recently, I was reading about how people are rising against the dogs and some of them are proposing so-called "solutions" to the so-called "problem" that are ridiculous and even unimaginable to me. Anyway, now, before it becomes illegal to talk about good dogs, I have come to find folks doing just that, and to ask a few questions myself regarding how to get the most out of one when i buy - this winter, hopefully. If I can, I 'd also like to contribute to the discussion of how to get the general public to understand the reality that APBT's are a noble fixture of our history, which continue to make some of the best dogs today - as pets or work animals.

After better educating myself through researching the accounts of past owners much experience, I now know that these dogs were bred for their tendancy to be loyal to man as well as for their almost unnatural work ethic. This, I believe, is beyond dispute and means that APBT's are worthy of my attention and support efforts. I look forward to meeting others like myself and to having useful discussion with those who disagree with these or any other points I raise. Yall feel free to teach me a lesson anytime!! GO Vols in the Fall!!
