Pit or staff???

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by mocha blue, Jul 12, 2004.

  1. I rescued a puppy from a really bad situation on the street, so no papers or ped, my question is how can I or if I can tell wether she is a pit or a staff at a early age,10 wks.or so . She 's 18 lb.s at this age but I been feeding her nothing but chicken and veggies and some supplements to get her healthy. She 's a beautiful pup and no mattter what she's for keeps as she has made her mark on me Pictures to come soon maybe this will help?

Damn 10 weeks old and weighs in at 18lb's....I got grown dogs that weigh that much..lol...I would lean more too say its a staff...Bulldog pups aren't usually that size at that age....

There is also a chance of it being an american bulldog. we have a few and the will be good size dogs and well look alot like a pit bull in some cases except for the size.

yeah i'd agree with rumble on being a staff but once you post pictures we should be able to help you out a little more.

Do you know its breeding? I ve seen a couple of dogs start out looking really big and then end up being 40 lbs. PW. A picture would also help.

It should be pretty easy to tell if hes a pit of amstaff, but he might be a bully breed mix, you never really know

Even though the shelter said he his pure, doesn't mean anything, i mean they don't know the dogs background...

So you never will really know
