Patrick-Breeder behind the Hollingsworth dogs

[FONT=&quot]Every pedigree for these dogs has one thing in common, Tombstone and Red Baby. Not just once, but over and over, copied and repeated again. Hollingsworth was a sheriff who copied Patrick, and the old sheriff was copied. I have been reading all these pedigrees and every one is the same thing, over and over, a copy of the original cross. This is the same old Bolio/Maloney cross that we are still making today, with the DIRECT descendants of these dogs and thier DIRECt and closest relatives. RTK, Openhouse, Southern Kennels, etc all have become very famous from this original cross. Calif Jack has made a career of giving all the credit for this original PATRICK cross to Hollingsworth. Pretty clever diversion from the FACTS. Go to the source. We know the copies, since they are made up of the original dogs and thier littermates, have certainly turned out to be worldbeaters, except for the VG dogs, which are a disgrace,(disease, infertility,babesia, inbreeding,non selection, greed) but remember where the original cross came from, a small kennel of dogs in Phoenix, over 30 years ago, with an old warrior named Tombstone, who had heartwormswhen he came here from Texas, and a little bitty red nosed female sired by Bolio named Red Baby. Red Baby nearly died in Az in a kennel accident in the summer. Tombstone passed shortly after the famous cross was made. I dont blame them all for copying this cross, it was probably the most famous cross in this breed ever made, and has made names for more people than any other, except possibly for one dog in that cross, Bolio. I cant help but cringe when I see the old sheriff getting all the credit for what was a copy. He used to call Patrick for advice on how to breed these dogs. He followed that advice.Even BSorrells purchased a fat heart murmur relative of Bolio to copy Patrick with Crums Creamator(Tombstone/RedBaby) Then the old sheriff went on to call Patrick a crook and liar, as the old sheriff was breeding Patrick dogs to copy Patrick. All the while telling anyone who would listen what a crumb Patrick was. Now thats gratitude for you! Hollingsworth was an opportunist, followed by the faux golden boy CJack, who then proclaimed that if it wasnt for the old copycat sheriff the world would not be the same place. No, those dogs made thier way in the world whether the old sheriff had them or not.They were so strong that even the sheriff, who practiced non selection had a high percentage and that continues to this day. The cream rises to the top. I just thought it was time to reremind people of who created these dogs. It wasnt Hollingsworth and it wasnt the golden boy. Without the original Tombstone and Red Baby, these dogs would NOT EXIST. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Thank you.[/FONT]

Good read but bro whoever wrote it contradict their own self.. They smash the other guys for taking what "Patrick did" but Patrick also followed others recipe and if Jack and others are wrong for giving credit to H-worth then they should bypass Patrick and thank Clouse and Maloney or go beyond them.. If I didn't buy my dog from Patrick but yet someone else who bred them why does he deserve anything? Truth is I bought several high priced dogs from PP that turned out to be shit and one who was game.. I got a few free Bolio x Tombstone dogs from a friend and 2 of 6 didn't make it but all 6 showed heart.. His work should not go to PP it goes to him for his time put in.. Just like when it's shit dogs the blame goes to him not PP.. I also find it funny the writer said PP had a small yard.. Pat didn't create Toot Jr but he did create Red Baby from a triple grand daughter of Clouse Staber and a stolen dog by the name of Bolio, so the credit shouldn't go PP it should be ones behind him.. According to the writers way of thinking.. Give credit to the hounds they the ones doing the real work

When I look at the Hollingsworth dogs I see PP dogs also.Now the Dolly to Tant dog the produced May Day I would credit him with.JMO

yeah sorry i dont give ALOT of credit to patrick for this style of dog. but the man does get credit for collecting the ones he did get bred..... he knew what he was doing but at that time his knowledge amon g other dogmen was pretty much the same.... so yeah we can go all the way back and just thank earl tudor and colby..... but pat had it in his head what he was making with his certain strains..... i love my tonka dogs.... even though i carry more maloney in my peds of dogs pat's name is there lmao....

i agree with RnR about the contradiction however i do believe PP deserves credit, he BRED some great dogs and he bred them for a long time. His dogs are some of the most influencial in the dogs today. Lots of people breed but how many people see their dogs in that many peds? Its says alot about what you are breeding no matter how you look at it. Not many can maintain a line that long that stays competitive

I will bite my tongue. The dogs did not breed themselves. Of course everybody started somewhere, but to create a family takes TIME and dog flesh and the breeders art. If it is so easy to just take someone elses dogs and create greatness, how come so few did?
