No, Irish Old Family Reds came from Ireland. They were a breed of dogs used to help create the American Pit Bull Terrier.
Old Family Red NOSE is a strain within the breed of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Same as the "Blue" dogs are a strain from the breed of fighting dogs from Scotland often referred to as Blue Pols, Blue Paul's, etc. Another foundation breed used many years ago, but the now strain isn't found to many modern day combat dogs.

Thanks for the info, let's not start debating over long dead dogs that have no bearing on today. He needs info on today's OFRN dogs... not sure of the ped but he's going to a picnic and there is one that's supposed to be there that he's interested in.

So in order to get the info he wants he needs to break the OFRN STRAIN down to whatever particular FAMILY it's from, and go from there?

Well if that is the case then the best thing to do is to go here and check it out.

Yes. Look into the pedigree of the dog and also who you're getting the dog from. Obviously you want a ped with proven dogs closer up front from someone who's breeding them for the right reasons. Just because the dog has a red nose doesn't make it OFRN either. Peddlers will use OFRN just like their madeup bloodlines to sell pups to people who don't know any better.

LOL, we're not looking to get into this strain. We're into another bloodline. Just was trying to get some general info on them other than that they are "classy dogs"
