Making a Slat mill

Those are some nice carpet mills. Still work on the supplies for the over haul of mine.

 

So let's see what the status is any?

 

Broke ass hell and need wheels and rubber strips. It seems every sum of cash i get is tied up and destine for bills and kibble these days and shots are up next also but times will always get better, i have a couple more dogs 3 coming to the yard in a week or so. And they will cost a few more bucks a month. So i need to just buy the material so it will actually happen. The Jennymill I built needs another welding session then Its going in the sand pit to be "banked".

Slatmill Belting

Awesome thread, very inspiring with lots of ideas!

I'm trying to build a slatmill as well and was wondering where to get the belting material.

I was looking at Flexco Rubber Belting 1/8" thick, and 4" wide.

use 6" split rims

 

Info on Best spot to buy, Roller Blade wheels Bulk, that anyone has seen on the net would be sweet too.

Also what would be the best way to split this roll in half?

Band Saw? or Hot wire? i figured someone would know more about working with this material.

 

if u can get a hold of "seen through the eyes of the millmaker" its a small book but mr. Lemm threw a blueprint of his mill with a list of materials.

 

has anyone used the plans from the R.LEMM book to build a mill ?
