Has anyone ever noticed or heard about a relation between how game a dog is and how eager and willing he is to work and train during a keep?

theoretically speaking i think it does. the way folks train, work & condition there dogs is all different. a hound usually has to earn a keep in the first place? a difference sure it seems like some have a built in calendar. a lot of times they will tell you when then they want to work & how willing they are for a keep. dogs that made rank in 18 months had to have shown something right? you breed the same stuff long enough you can see difference in them.

Have seen dogs go the distance that were absolutly horrible to put thru a keep as well as dogs that worked hard in their keep only to quit at the show. I don't think one has anything to do with the other....

its the look in the eyes you get when you have overworked your hound. Looks like they are just giving up. It is the look of them quiting... Doesnt have anything to do with....
