Dogs Victimized by Hurrican Katrina

Hurricane Katrina killed thousands of animals. It also left hundreds of surviving pets to fend for themselves. Two of those pets are in the Stateline and they need your help.

Pam Pollak drove a horse trailer full of pet supplies down to the hurricane ravaged area. She drove back with it full of pets. She still has two of those dogs at her house in Poplar Grove. The dogs are extremely skittish, scared of strangers, and will bite if they are approached too quickly. Once the dogs get to know person, they are quite pleasant.

document.write('');Pollak would eventually like to give the dogs up for adoption but that would take at least a few months. The dog’s new owners will have to come to her farm almost every day for a couple months so the dogs can get to know them.

In the mean time veterinarian bills are stacking up. The dogs both have heartworm and will have to be medicated for months. Each dog will end up costing Pollock over $1000.

An account has been set up for the dogs at the Badger Vet Hospital in Janesville. All funds will go to the treatment of the victimized dogs. If you would like to contribute, send donations to:
