Mac11 you must be reading too much into my post? Where did I tell you that a dog that didnt have good conformation couldnt win or wasnt game? LMAO

Again Form FOLLOWS Function, but the form alone does not dictate the LEVEL of the function hence why they are two different things.

Mac11, I can play the same game as you, I can find 1000 dogs to your 5 (good dogs), with pretty good conformation that aren't worth a shit LMAO.

Damn 1000 to 5 , what is the percentages on that , somebody just got schooled LMAO.

Man, the list goes on.....Although yall don't think conformation is improtant, and the said dogs above weren't bred for their looks, but they are for the most part correct specimen's of the breed. @Davidfitness, if the function of the APBT is changed, then it's not an APBT your talking about. Saiyan,........lol...once again, I didn't say form has anything to do with being good, but with good form comes good function, meaning the dog is able to move correctly making him more apt to do what it's suppose to. Take that long bodied dog with extra weight who can't turn in a tight position, and see were he will be a 1:06. Greyhounds may be slightly longer, but they are not an APBT. Take the pic of blackclouds dog for instance, she is long in the loin, and her neck is short. She don't know that, and it don't take away from her being bulldog, however with the loin issue, she would see bigger dogs, and with that neck issue, she can't reach.

Mac, I never said conformation wasn't important.....just said, more or less, you can't judge a dog by how it looks. Conformation is really relative if you think about it, and everyone has their preference as to how their bulldog is built for what reasons. I suppose you could say conformation is in the eye of the beholder, lol. Only way to really tell is to see a dog in action...until that most of it is just theories or posibilities.

I second what Peon said. I think the "pit bull" (generic term!!!) is the most versatile breed I've ever seen. You have your more terrier looking dogs because thats what some people like and you have your more bulldog looking dogs because thats what others like. The American Pit Bull Terrier, depending on the line, can look more lean and athletic (terrier or bulldog looking) or more Show like the American Staffordsire Terrier. So its really all in what you like.

With that said here are some of my dogs doing what they love:

    Snow:

    Jud (And Snow)

He also seems to have a prey drive. Chasing any animal that runs is his favorite thing.

Jud and Snow are so active that within the couple weeks I've been letting them play and run together alone; have gained so much muscle. I'm also taking them to swim and they both love it so much. I can't do anything really with my female anymore so I just let her be a pet dog and she runs and plays and swims. Jud will be a working dog. His drive will be very useful.

First off Mac11 you are contradicting your self LOL You said and I quote "said dogs above werent bred for there looks", yet you still say and I quote " although yall dont think conformation is important" LMAO Those dogs are not correct specimens of the breed because of the way they look LMAO They are correct specimens of the breed because of there FUNCTION/Performance. You are going about it all BACKWARDS mac11 LMAO.

quote from mac11 "but with good form comes good function"
Again just because a dog has a good form doesn't mean it comes with good function.

As long as a dog is not severely deformed a dogs form has little to do with the level of a dogs function.

Form/Conformation is traits that you can obviously see by just looking at a dog like size , color , and shape.

Function/Performance are traits that you cannot see unless that dog performs a particular task.

Like I said before and I will say it again, Form FOLLOWS function.

Answer me this question mac11, which head form throws the hardest mouth? LMAOROTF

    sadieblues CH Dog

I agree with Saiy and I think dog men took form into account as they knew the dogs needed to uphold during extreme circumstances and punishment breed for gameness/performance first everything else will fall into place. Unless you are dealing with severe deformities ugly physical faults shouldn't severely impact a dogs performance or ability to do the job.
