Any deer or turkey hunters on here?

My season started out great but I am lacking now. Got one turkey but besides that, nothing at all. Going again this weekend! Any braggers out there with some nice trophies???? Bow with a turkey isn't easy but I am proud of it.

 

Got a decent tom last spring. Bow season for deer started here a week ago so I've been in the stand and the blind alot already. Its to early nothing is really moving yet but I have been to excited to wait for colder weather.

 

Love to do both, Turkey and deer hunt with firearms and bows. Archery starts this Saturday for deer here. My son and I can't wait for this season to start. My favorite time of the year is early and late archery season.

 

i hunt ... pretty much everything except turkey .. here in illinois bow season starts oct 1.. i shot a nice 12 point last year and that was my first deer mount.. my father in law is a avid turkey hunter and killed a wild lookin double bearded hen a couple years back one beard was 8 inches and the other 9 inches.. pretty cool

here is my wild illinois pheasant.. alot of people in il think their is no wild birds around but you just have to know where to find them.. my mounts are a little dusty lol

 

Nice buck Okeefes. Did you have it scored? Any pics of that hen?

no i didnt have it scored.. im not really into all that honestly.. it was my biggest buck that i have taken so i had it mounted because you never know if i would ever get one that would top this one.. he was just hitting maturity at 3 years old

Really nice bird and deer, I know that was a great moment in hunting for you. Going to try to get tomorrow morning, they are moving here but we messed up looking for my buddy's kid's first buck, bad hit on the deer and we searched to much and knock the deer off track so we are letting the land sit for the past week and half so I hope to post some pics soon of something, lol.

Its still too early here in Kansas the deer just arent moving. Hopefully I'll have a few pics of a nice buck I'm after.

 

ok now i want to go hunting to . but i want to shoot 1 . and i will leave the bow hunting to to younger guy . and i have a blood tracking dog and you know you need 1 . okeefes that a nice buck . he would have been a monster at 6-7 years old . but you can't wait on him . i know alittle about breeding deer . and he would have bought 3-5 thousand for a pegant doe . that's good blood you have there . good culling buy the landowners to .

that's how i am . i cull the does and bad racks . sometimes i will take a nice 1 . food is what i like . i just love to watch a young buck mature . you will be surprized at what you have sometimes .

 

heading out this evening mid michigan area, only have five acres but it produces well lots of soy beans and sod farms in the area. Get to take my 5yr old out this year she has had her camo on all day staring out the window claiming she's not hot lol. Good luck everyone and be safe out there.

 

whacked me a nice doe yesterday am . opening morning.. 7:30 am 4 does walk right under me.. too close so i wait till they get past me.. 3 go over to my right just out of range but the one i shot turned broadside at 20 yards and she got the arrow.. got my meat deer so later in nov during the rut i will trophy hunt..
