it happened first week of may. the misses was there with him when it happened, at first she thought he got shocked by the electric fence for the cattle. he had a violent seizure. i left work upon getting the call, and came home to a completely lame dog-he couldnt move. we brought him to our vet thinking that "this is it", but the vet gave us a little hope, told us to give him a few days. while there he got pretty gassy, so i carried him outside, held him up so he could go. the vet came out, asked me to let him go and see what would happen- he would fall. it was determined that he had a stroke and seizure.
he told us to give it a week- if he didnt improve at all in that time, he probably wouldnt. so we brought him home....
    less than a week after...

Hey RR, was the old boy black or brindle when he was younger? or is that just the silver fox coming out in his fur :)

Allways love your pics Rally, gives me an idea of some sunny bulldogs paradise when i see them up.
Glad to see how the old mans coping he truly is a credit as are you for being able to keep him around to such an old age. Its morning here now and with the light shinning on her i have noticed grey hair on the junkyard dog for the first time, justa tinge on her muzzle:mad: but if she grows old half as well as your old boy i will be stoked.

black. some of the white is from scars, some is silver fox :D

thanks! believe it or not she is not worked-she gets a good romp around the yard daily. but she will be 2 years old next month- might work her for next show season.
kearney is doing great. they will both be at the GA show

thanks man- i do the best i can for them. the best thing about when they get old is they still think they are young. the old man stopped being able to get up in the truck this year, but he will still gallop and jump up onto the ottoman in the house, and flop around like a puppy.
i pretty much consider any time after 10 years old as a ~bonus~. as of this moment, Bishop is my second to make it past 13 years old. i personally think the secret is the bond, like it keeps them going. it might sound strange, but thats how it looks thru my eyes.

Doesnt sound strange to me one bit RR.I think this was the reason my boy lived to the ripe old age of 14.

Awsome ralleyrace i think a bond def does helpout long lived dogs... just like with people... they say when you have long lived bonds with loved ones and friends , it def increases longevity. Trelos thats badass.. Also your dogs are looking pretty ripped... getting reqady for a show?
