live outside boston in the burbs. not far 20 min from the city but its the burbs.. i am feeling the country, I hike everyday with my dogs and at first it was to much if it was 75 and humid. now it has to be 90 and humid before we just stay in. I mean we go early in the day and hike into the heat of the day and head home or start late when the sun is up till 9pm. funny i hated winter till i got dogs now i cant wait for winter. for the most part it is perfect right now though. they do so much better in winter it is way more easy to get out with em dont have to worry about how long or water. i just dress em if we are gonna be in snow and wax up the feet and go. shit i even got em booties as i will take em for 6 plus hours in the snow and you can see the feet get wicked red but thats the only problem. Winter is exercise season for us!

You are not kidding ... I absoluetly love the winter and the country these days... the winter is def for me... I dunno how i would do way up north though... i have not seen snow in like 4 years , but i def like the cold wheather... so do the dogs..... plus they knowits time to hit the woods... ill take em out in the woods but dont do any hunting ... hot , humid , bugs, ticks .... just way better during the cold.wake up with frost on the ground and they are ready to go.

what about bog bottom end? My dogs have some hamhocks on that back end..... iwonder how that affects movement and speed

lol yeah i 2nd the no turning part...also as long as the dog shows good in a hunt and is game as all hell thats all that matters ta me. i do prefer the wirery bodies,but i also like the compact bulldogs,but heres some long 1's like my boy warlock here and his granpa shorty{kingfish/corvino}warlock is the white dog{patrick/saloon/kinfish/corvino}the buckskin bitch is the goodson/ironline pup i had...all long torso'd bulldogs colby/wildside cross

you have any peds on these kingfish/corvino/salon dogs? the stuff is rare these days.Id be interested in seeing a ped on a dog bred like that still living.

these dogs have been dead for quite some time buddy,and yes im from the midwest,and i knew the fellas who had dbl gr ch tornado along time ago b4 K.A.,but why throw names around?these WERE good dogs that i was blessed to have from the mid 90"s . so why come on here stirrin some shit up??? i dont concentrate on peds i cocentrate on game dogs.i owned these dogs b4 some of these dudes even knew what peds online was. if inquirin minds wanna know the kingfish came from a saloon{tornado}/kingfish{stubblefields buddy} dog,crossed in to an old ironline bulldog.my boy shorty came from a linebred kingfish/eli/corvino dog bred back to his daughter from west va that was crossed with kingfish/saloon dog that got warlock... the buckskin bitch queen was out of goodson's buster to rivera's lucey{a goodson loose lucey to a ironline dog heavy on iron spike/iron bobcat blood}.i was blessed to kno some good old fellas and family that put these dogs in my hands.now your point mite be that these dogs dont have these key dogs upclose ie;kingfish/saloon/tornado but its what made the lines that they were so this is how i describe them. hope this clears things up 4 you.so 4 the peds on the older dogs that aint happenin,never made any peds on feds online,i didnt even kno there was a peds online in 95',i have peds here in ohio if you would like to come see lol these dogs have been gone 15+years except the colby wildside dog in the pic ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [357205] :: BIGG ADAM'S VENOM and shes been dead since 2005. and the blood i work with now are as follows if peds are what you are interested in...hope this clears things up.ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [363450] :: WAGNER'S VADER,ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [196387] :: GOIN DOWN THIS WINTER....,ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [192299] :: POSS. You need to chill the fuck out . I aint stiring nothing.I shure as hell dident ask you to throw names around. You got me twisted. Im a fan of all above mentioned blood. I am also from the midwest and know a bit about them lines and do know folks who still have kingfish dogs ,art dogs ,Tonado dogs etc etc and other common midwest blood.Chill on the caffiene.

get a dog that doesnt break easy......thick boned not fat........even in shape hes tough to crunch. He got to enjoy his work.....underdogs and bottom feeder dont impress me much unless they can finish fast! A good dog wont let anyone near his backend, which he should have learnt early on. Body type dont mean much.......if hes got 3 legs and wins hes worth his feed.

the gazette back in the early 80's did a long article on this subject from some veterinary studies and if i remember right the longer dogs muscles just don't lose fluids as fast plus they have more strength think of the bones being like a lever and fulcrum plus imo they look more like a traditional bulldog

From a personal point of viuew il take along body dog 365 days a year over a short body dog.
1 long body often have deeper chests, witch meens more room for bigger lung divelopmend as the internal organs have plenty of room DEEP in the chest cavety. the lungs are located on top of that underneath the spine!!.
2 Long body dogs have mutch more leverich when it comes to pushing uponends around when properly conditiond they divelop long set of muscles ton ther back that the can artch like a bow.
3 long body dogs due to there long body have there gut intestins way in the back witch meens lesser combined heat around vital organs.
4 Long Body dogs often have longer legs witch makes de actual distanse they move around in the box 25% less then a short legged dog.
5 Long Body dogs often have the perfect balanse between a straight dibo stifel and a artchst stifel, making them able to spend there energy over a longer period of time.

1 often have and ore tent to have barrel chests(ed) witch meens smaller lung capasety chek above for negatifs
2 short body dogs have a mutchs shorter shake when they have the pig.
3 short body dogs often have yes Straight dibo stifels witch are and diliver great forward strenght and motion, but ran out of gas and run hot mutch quiker.
4 short body dogs often face bigger taller uponends, witch CAN be a benefit if they have a chest shoulder stijl .
5 short body dogs lack the boring in quality when faceing a douwn uponend where the need leveritch..
haveing said the above about long body ""everyting"" is useless if there is no Gamennes and ore mouth and durabilety.
there are plenty short body dogs that wip long body dogs in a hunting contest. but in teory the long body dog hase a fisical advantage .

If you ask most real dogmen they'll tell you that they like a longer dog over a shorter dog any day. For you guys that hold tg high ask him he'll tell you. As a matter of fact he said it on that video that was up here a couple of weeks ago with his new setup. It makes since. In example: 48 lbs is 48lbs no matter how you slice it. Range makes all the difference. If you have 2 boxers and they both weigh 170 lbs. and one stands 6 feet and the other stands 5ft 8in. the taller guy will have the advantage because he can keep him out of reach of him if he's smart. You'll hear them announce that everytime before the fight regardless of the names of the boxers. Its easier to get to what you want on a shorter dog than it is on a longer dog. A longer dog could ride the ear all night long while the shorter dog couldnt even grab a front leg in the process. If weights are the same then the shorter dog will be at a disadvantage ask your real dogmen you know not the guys on here. They'll tell ya. Now i will say short torso dogs may look more appealing to the eye but that's usually it unless they're just a pure destroyer. Alot of dogs people think were short really werent it was just how they looked in the picture. I.E. Zebo

I like the dogs built like thoroughbred Horses.. slightly narrow chested, as deep as i can get and long lean muscles..Thats preference but im a fan of bulldogs not conformation
