Lets get back to the dogs for a min...as someone said he must be doing something right to be running dogs 20 years later. I would pray to god that he gives me 20 more years of life with these dogs and hopefully some that I can trace back to my original stock. Says something about the man if you ask me cause many have come and passed in 20 years. Really says something

  9. I don't know if it's just me or what but to me that yard looked like anything but an Eli yard. Only one black dog that I could distinguish in there, you would think the yard would be full of blacks...
The set-ups are fine, it's warm all year round there and all the dogs need is a roof for when it rains. The food is excellent, much better than that crap you feed out of a bag that's for sure. You have just been brainwashed into thinking the bag is better by commercial marketing is all.
I don't agree that all a dog needs is meat and bones though. They also need other things, semi-digested or puree'd veggies included in order to have a balanced diet...etc. But mainly meat and bones is what they eat.

I can't believe someone said to put air conditioning for a friggin dog!!!!!! Dam pansy ass Americans capitalist pigs! lmao!!!! What's next, doggie viagra? lol

Anyway, we do just like ol' Johnny there with our Eli dogs...

Gringo I kinda was thinking that about there being more black dogs most of his dogs had the coloration you see with alligator/tonka crosses that kinda tri-color look with the peak on their face kinda look ( dunno the actual name). i would have liked to see some peds on them to see what out he used on his original eli line that would produce that I will try and find a pic of the coloration I am talking about

I like the meat diet as long as its used in the right combinations really helps workin dogs hold weight and build lean muscle i dont have access all the time but for those who have it more power to you. As for the video I cant take anything away from someone thats been at it 20 plus and having success... not everybodies yard can look like a million bucks just as long as the dogs are healthy and maintained gotta give credit on that

  15. Yeah Killadev, check out the dog Petronelli's Fox, he had that coloration you are reffering to I believe.

In the video a couple of pups were shown together with pieces of meat on the ground. One of them was clearly the dominant pup and I can only imagine that he had them both in there with food in the hopes of getting the more submissive one to start up, but it was clear the pup was not yet interested in having any contact with another dog that was not in play. Although I understand the purspose of this, I would not do it myself or recommend it be done. First of all they are pups and although I allow our pups to get pretty rough in play, it ends when it turns from play to serious. Second, by forcing the more submissive pup to defend itself or to keep away from the food, you are beginning to ruin the dog by either making it a fear fighter (which you can never fully count on to cross) and/or you are allowing the pup to "learn" that he can stay out of harms way by "running away" as the agression of the other dog stops when the pup gets away from the food.

It's just a pup and there is no reason to worry about it while it's a pup but later if the dog shows these same submissive traits there are some things you can do to mess with it's head and tweak it a bit and maybe get it to sit more square on the shoulders, but none of them have to do with forcing the dog to defend itself.

That's enough rambling for now, it was just something that popped into my head when I saw the clip and I am sure there are many different opinions and each is as valid as mine if not more.

i don't believe all the dogs were eli bloodline? whatever DB had in the 80's was his foundation. odd's are he has it crossed up today though.

Dogs don't really "need" veggies. A lot of people add them but dogs are just as healthy on a PMR diet as a BARF diet. Either way the dogs are being fed way better than ANY kibble fed dog. NO kibble in the world compares to raw.

johnny's red was i think if i can remember a jeep bred dog . he was a breaker and would take the frontend out . this was in the early 80's . most people have'nt been to 3 rd world countries . so V go there and live awhile before you talk shit . and yes it should be clearer . but i bet at times your yard could look cleaner to .

    Interview with D. Burton

Danny, what can you tell me about Taiwan?

" One day somebody called me and I hung up the phone because I thought somebody was playing a joke on me. But he called back and said 'please don't hang up.' He asked me if I was Danny Burton and then told me it took him four years to find me. He asked me if he could come over and I thought it was still a joke so I said, 'yes, sure, come over.' Then the next thing on a Friday night he called me and said 'I'm at the airport. Can you come and pick me up.' That's how I met Johnny Lai for the first time. When he was over here he asked if I would come to Taiwan, and I did. I worked a dog over called A.P. They called him TURTLE. Now dogfights are legal in Taiwan and they bet an awful lot of money. These people are very, very dedicated and serious. They are so serious that it almost takes the fun out of it. The treadmills they make over there are huge because they have these Chinese fighting dogs they call TOSA-INU. Johnny Lai was the first man to bring Pit Bulls from the USA to Taiwan and he is also the man that wrote the rules over there. I built the first catmill over there and taught them how to work a dog on it. I stayed about 27 days. The original plan was for over 40 days, but the food was so different from here, that I left early. They fed me rice and fish every day. Rice for breakfast, rice for lunch, and rice for dinner. They really treated me like a king, but the only meat that I'd seen was a cow pulling a cart down the road and it made me hungry just to look at him. "

Do you believe the Taiwanese people are more honest than the American people?

" Oh, yes, absolutely! To these people it's just a matter of pride and principals. I'm not taking away from America, but these people are different. Over here it seems like the general dogman is more interested in money than in the dogs. They are extremely honest and big gamblers at the same time. That's why they fly these people to Las Vegas for free. The whole deal over there is very organized and you would never have to be afraid of somebody trying to put a rub on you. They have something like two or three thousand spectators, and they gamble hard. I've seen them bring in the money in suitcases, never seen anything like it! ".

Who is putting up the money?

" The people themselves, and if they run out of money, they bet their fingers. I am missing one finger on my right hand, and one of these guys walked up to me and said, 'lost bet?' ".

Do you think they have good dogs in Taiwan now?

" They have been buying a lot of dogs; and now if they buy something, they come over and take the dog back with them when they leave. It's just like with those people from England, they have been cheated by American people so bad, that now they come and take the dog back home. And I believe they are getting better dogs all the time. I couldn't take advantage of someone's trust, but some people will. The people from Taiwan and Europe wouldn't do anything like that, because to them, it's a matter of pride ".
