What Breeds Could She Be Mixed With?

Hi all. Yesterday I adopted what is believed to be a "pit bull" terrier mix (at least that's what she was labeled as) from my local SPCA. She is just 10 months old, and 37lbs. They said she will probably just round out instead of grow higher and top out at or under 50lbs max.

She is friendly, sweet, and fairly gentle, not to mention incredibly intelligent. I taught her leash training, sit, and lie down today. She does need to learn manners around people in terms of getting too excited, an I have a 2 year old nephew who runs a lot, which excites her, and then she growls strains and wants to chase him which is a no-no because its out of question that shed be too roug with him and both need to do some maturing, and I need to work with her. So I know she has a high prey drive with running after things, even me, although she's gentle with me.

Anyways, I have some pictures, and I've just been wondering if anyone could make a guess at what she could be mixed with? I'm particularly curious because I read an article about how many mixes sometimes aren't even close to what they look like.

That's a matter of your own opinion however millions of people have big dogs around kids with out incident. Any dog of any breed should be socialized around kids if they are ever going to be around them which the OP stated that the child was their nephew, meaning this dog is going to be around kids. Dogs and kids both need to be taught how to interact properly with each other. If you live anywhere populated the odds are your dog will come in contact with a kid from time to time. I have been around Big dogs my entire childhood (Rottweilers) and have raised 2 kids full time around some extremely high strung animals and have never had an incident, even with the many kids who run through here daily with my kids.

To the OP, your guess as to what mix makes up your dog is just as good as anyone elses as they can only be guesses. It's a good looking dog, take care of it and raise it right socialize it with your nephew every chance you get but also teach your nephew how to properly act around a dog. Good luck with your dog.

Point taken a.g.k....i should have been more clear,,,,i mean un-supervised and small kid's..been around diff;dog types esp bulls.since crawling.as-well..in saying that had dog's that would never trust an adult and would attack any-thing that walked yet when a child was on the scene they be cuddly teddy bear's..yes socialiseing is very important, esp;with young dogs.....
