    more of Obamas broken promises....
its amazing what he will say to get votes.

CARTAGENA, Colombia — In his most specific pledge yet to U.S. Hispanics, President Barack Obama said Saturday he would seek to tackle immigration policy in the first year of a second term. But he cautioned that he would need an amenable Congress to succeed.
"This is something I care deeply about," he told Univision. "It's personal to me."
Obama said in the television interview that he would work on immigration this year, but said he can't get support from Republicans in Congress. Obama also tried to paint his Republican presidential challenger, Mitt Romney, as an extremist on immigration, saying that Romney supports laws that would potentially allow for people to be stopped and asked for citizenship papers based on an assumption that they are illegal.
"So what we need is a change either of Congress or we need Republicans to change their mind, and I think this has to be an important debate during – throughout the country," Obama said.
Romney aides have said that the former Massachusetts governor supports laws that would require employers to verify the legal status of workers they employ.
"President Obama only talks about immigration reform when he's seeking votes," said Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul. "Then-candidate Obama promised to tackle immigration reform in his first year. More than three years into his term, America is still waiting for his immigration plan."
Hispanics are an increasingly important voting bloc in presidential elections. Obama won a sizable majority of the Hispanic vote in the 2008 election and his campaign is hoping for similar results this November.
Obama spoke to Univision, a network widely watched by Latinos in the United States, while in Colombia for the Summit of the Americas.

more of Obama stripping our "imaginary" freedoms...

    (1) In 1996, then Illinois state Senator Obama answered a gun control questionnaire. He wrote that he supported a complete ban on the manufacture, sale, and possession of handguns and “assault weapons,” and also supported mandatory waiting periods and background checks. During the 2008 campaign, candidate Obama denied ever filling out the questionnaire, despite the fact that it was completed in his handwriting. FactCheck.org confirmed that he had, in fact, filled out the questionnaire. [source A]
    (2) In 1998, Mr. Obama expressed his support for a complete ban on the sale or transfer of all semi-automatic firearms. He supported increasing state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms — this in Illinois, one of the only two states that to this day bans concealed carry. [source A]
    (3) The 1998 Joyce Foundation annual report revealed that Mr. Obama was a member of its board of directors. The Joyce Foundation is one of the largest sources of funding for anti-gun groups and for anti-gun “research.” [source 7]
    (4) In 1999, the Chicago Defender reported that Mr. Obama wanted to ban the resale of police issued firearms, even for the purpose of buying new equipment. [source 4]
    (5) In 1999, Mr. Obama endorsed a 500% increase in the federal excise tax on firearms and ammunition. This was obviously intended to increase the price of gun ownership so drastically as to make it unaffordable for most Americans. [source 4]
    (6) In 1999, Mr. Obama supported a proposal to ban gun stores within five miles of a school or park. This was a reasonable sounding scheme that would have had the effect of banning nearly every gun store in America. [source 8]
    (7) In 1999, the Chicago Defender also reported that Mr. Obama favored mandatory firearm training for all gun owners and a ban on gun ownership for everyone under 21. [source 4]
    (8) In 2000, Mr. Obama cosponsored a bill that limited firearm purchases to one per month. The bill failed. He also voted against allowing citizens to violate local weapon bans where self-defense was involved. [source A]
    (9) In 2004, Mr. Obama voted for an Illinois Senate bill that allowed retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed weapons. While this might seem to be at odds with every political stance he had taken on the issue, it was later revealed that at the time he was fighting his Republican opponent for the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police. His support for the bill was almost certainly cynical political pandering rather than an indication of any appreciation for police officers or for the rights of gun owners. [source A]
    (10) In a 2004 Illinois Senate debate with Alan Keyes, Mr. Obama said: “I think it is a scandal that this president [Bush] did not authorize a renewal of the assault weapons ban.”

    (11) In 2005, Mr. Obama voted in the U.S. Senate to ban nearly all rifle ammunition in common civilian use. [source 3]
    (12) Mr. Obama opposes four of the five Supreme Court justices who affirmed an individual right to keep and bear arms. He said he would not have voted for Scalia or Thomas and voted against the confirmation of Alito and Chief Justice Roberts. [source 1]

    (13) Mr. Obama voted to allow lawsuits against firearm manufacturers for the acts of third parties beyond their knowledge or control. Such suits were designed to destroy the domestic firearms industry. [source 2]
    (14) Mr. Obama has consistently opposed right to a ban on standard capacity magazines. [source 9]
    (15) A 2008 report revealed that Mr. Obama was in favor of mandatory micro-stamping, a scheme which would significantly increase the cost of new firearms while simultaneously establishing a massive registry. Despite uniform scientific evidence that the scheme does not and cannot work, efforts to impose it continue today. [source 10]
    (16) In 2008, ABC News reported Mr. Obama’s support for gun bans in major cities including Chicago and Washington, D.C. [source 5]
    (17) Mr. Obama’s 2008 campaign website indicated his support for the repeal of the Tiahrt Amendment, which prohibits information on gun traces collected by the ATF from being used in nuisance lawsuits against firearm dealers and manufacturers. This too is a battle anti-gun forces continue to fight.

just another example of the media and the adminstration holding hands suckin each other off in order to make someone look like an asshole for not liking the president. the gov is the biggest lying corrupt force on earth, they dig their hands into everyones pocket and the judicial system is so flawed that anyone with a really good knowledge of law can pretty much slap with blind justice n ruin you. this world and our future generations are really in for a shock. another joke is the taxing system but for now ill stick to ted. he shouldent regret anything he said. baraks just trying to shut the mouth of the lil birdie that opposes his dictatorshit hes working to perfect. em em em. get a republican in office at least then well have guns when the lights go out

And to Blackcloud: Anyone that voted fro him in 2008 was in denial. odumma is bar none one of the biggest racist that there are. He and his family went to Rev Jeremiah Wright for 20 years and deny they agree with what he espoused. Right- gimme a break. Two examples: Odumma's and Holder's behavior by failing to condemn or prosecute the black panthers for having a bounty out for Zimmerman, as well as not prosecuting when the black panthers had member(s) outside a voting booth intimidating voters prove he's not suitable to be the US president. The list can go on and on. Our country is wrecked beyond repair if he's re-elected.

This will be an interesting story to follow, as long as your last name isnt Nugent. I dont know what he was thinking making comments to the public like that. It makes me wonder if he has some personal agenda that no one knows about, because he is smart enough to know better.

Exactly!!! For a nation that sought to beat down the original inhabitants of this country, those forced to come here, and even those who immigrated here that look similar based conflicts over seas or what ever the case may be, we sure do have a short memory. If there are any in doubt of the previous statement you need to take your head out of your ass. Presidents are elected to serve the country as a whole and not all decisions will be seen as beneficial to all inhabitants of this nation. Free speech is an important right, but when hate is spewed whether direct or under the radar it needs to be addressed regardless of color, sex, or social status the person may have.

its an espression of speach, we hear it all the time. when a football games about to start and the players are getting amped up an say OK, WERE GONNA GO OUT THERE AND WERE GONNA MURDER THESE MUTHA F&*KS. players dont stop and ohhh wait wait, hold on now, im not abt killing people. its an espression of speech. i say all the time in paintball, ima dust em like a book shelf, that doesnt mean i plan on assasinating someone. theres a diffrence and ted didnt threatin anyone, the only statement he made that might have been considered a threat is when he mention abt "at this time next year" he will be dead on in jail. that was poor wording. this is being blown up by the media and the administration. they do it for everything that will play in their favor somehow. bottom line, do you wanna pay more taxes? do you wanna have gun rights restricted? do you wanna help the less fotunite and give a lil more? These are the real important questions. lets face it we can play the blame game all night and day, but lets also remember we all love pitbulls and politics is one nasty thing no one, no matter color size orgiin or religion will all fully agree on but in order to surpass problem and we create solutions we must all respect and treat each other a lil better.

    WASHINGTON | Wed Oct 14, 2009 11:56pm EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States would support the talks as long as the negotiating forum, the so-called Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty, "operates under the rules of consensus decision-making."

"Consensus is needed to ensure the widest possible support for the Treaty and to avoid loopholes in the Treaty that can be exploited by those wishing to export arms irresponsibly," Clinton said in a written statement.

While praising the Obama administration's decision to overturn the Bush-era policy and to proceed with negotiations to regulate conventional arms sales, some groups criticized the U.S. insistence that decisions on the treaty be unanimous.

"The shift in position by the world's biggest arms exporter is a major breakthrough in launching formal negotiations at the United Nations in order to prevent irresponsible arms transfers," Amnesty International and Oxfam International said in a joint statement.

However, they said insisting that decisions on the treaty be made by consensus "could fatally weaken a final deal."

"Governments must resist US demands to give any single state the power to veto the treaty as this could hold the process hostage during the course of negotiations. We call on all governments to reject such a veto clause," said Oxfam International's policy adviser Debbie Hillier.

The proposed legally binding treaty would tighten regulation of, and set international standards for, the import, export and transfer of conventional weapons.

Supporters say it would give worldwide coverage to close gaps in existing regional and national arms export control systems that allow weapons to pass onto the illicit market.

Nations would remain in charge of their arms export control arrangements but would be legally obliged to assess each export against criteria agreed under the treaty. Governments would have to authorize transfers in writing and in advance.

The main opponent of the treaty in the past was the U.S. Bush administration, which said national controls were better. Last year, the United States accounted for more than two-thirds of some $55.2 billion in global arms transfer deals.

Arms exporters China, Russia and Israel abstained last year in a U.N. vote on the issue.

The proposed treaty is opposed by conservative U.S. think tanks like the Heritage Foundation, which said last month that it would not restrict the access of "dictators and terrorists" to arms but would be used to reduce the ability of democracies such as Israel to defend their people.

The U.S. lobbying group the National Rifle Association has also opposed the treaty.

A resolution before the U.N. General Assembly is sponsored by seven nations including major arms exporter Britain. It calls for preparatory meetings in 2010 and 2011 for a conference to negotiate a treaty in 2012.

thats right folks....2012. buy your guns now, and vote for guns in the election. with no 2nd, there will be no 1st ammendment.
history has proven that many times.
