Titus and friends - IN

Hi there!
I am a daily volunteer at the Humane Society of Putnam County. We have quite a few pit bulls and pit bull mixes come through our doors. In the short three months I have been there regularly, I have seen many come in and out of our doors. Unfortunately, most people in our county are not kind to our breed. We are looking for dedicated people to adopt and foster our dogs out of the area. We are transport friendly and we do monthly transports to New England area shelters. Sadly, most of the shelters on transport are not pit bull friendly. We're also looking for good rescues to take our dogs.
Staff and volunteers at HSPC would love to work with anyone that can help us out. We have many bully dogs available right now to the perfect home. It really kills my heart to let these dogs go. I DO NOT WANT THEM TO GO TO JUST ANYBODY. I truly want to take them all home myself... but I can't. We would love experienced bully owners to come to us or even we can go on transport. Now, on to the dogs! I don't have many pictures right now, but I'm taking my camera in tomorrow to get new photos of everybody. I'm really excited!

Male
Stunning little dog. He's a rich brindle and white that just came into the shelter over the weekend. I feel in love with him the moment I set eyes on him. Titus doesn't really fit him so I've been calling him Bubba. Everyone else knows him as Titus though. Not much is known about him yet. He's tiny and compact. We're looking for a rescue to take this boy in. He's full of love and deserves the best home! Hardly pulls at all on a leash. Animal control brought him in when he was wondering around a truck stop.

She is very typical of the breed. She is extremely people friendly and loves to cuddle. Riley is selectively dog aggressive and is reactive in the kennel. She is an amazing, TINY dog. Solid muscle and has the cutest face. She is a busy-body and loves to stay active. Future weight pull champ???

Mangey little girl. Very wormy and full of scars. She's underweight and unfortunately, food aggressive. She just came in over the weekend and not much is known yet. Seems to love people which is a must in this breed. She's black brindle but she doesn't have much hair left. So, some believe that she doesn't have mange but that it is a skin allergy. I don't know what's been confimed yet. We'll see. Good thoughts.

Mama Dog

Came in looking preggo, but she's not. She did have pups recently though. Awesome newbie to the shelter. She's got crazy ears that fly away in the wind. A cute smutty color. Not sure what else to call it. Not much is known about her yet.

Roxy
Mix (others called her American Bull Dog, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Pit Bull)

Obviously she's none of the above breeds. The only thing bully about her is her head. She came in scared to death as an owner surrender. They apparently hated her and thought she was the most stupid dog they'd ever met. That is not the case. Horrible picture but it'll have to do until I take a new one.

Freaking adorable and made to please. He loves people and is extremely focused on his handler. He's still a puppy but will be a big dog. I took him out the other day and he learned sit, down, and roll over. Would make an amazing obedience dog. He gets along with other dogs, male and female. I cannot say enough good things about this boy. I took his picture a while ago, so he's grown some.

Bent has been here for a very long time. She's very mixey but we've labeled her as a pit bull mix. Maybe Labrador or shepherd? She's selectively dog aggressive. She was adopted and put on hold for a bit while her owner had major surgury. Unfortunately, they couldn't take her home after all. So, she's still here waiting patiently. Rarely barks that I've seen. She's a puller but loves people and is very calm and loving in her kennel.
