    CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Five people are facing charges after investigators uncovered a dog fighting ring in Price Hill.

Maurice Davis, 32, Edwin Sampson, 27, Leon Jennings, 34, Willie Bullard, 53, Tyra Henderson, 30 are all charged with dog fighting and criminal trespassing. Sampson is also facing a drug possession charge.

According to court documents, they were participating in a dog fighting event in an abandoned home on Dewey Avenue in Price Hill. Officers responded after reports of dogs fighting and people cheering at the home.

An animal-control officer was bitten at the scene Tuesday by one of the pit bulls that ran away. The officer will have rabies injections unless the animal is found.

A pit bull was found at the scene with injuries officers said were consistent with dog-fighting, including a cut over an eye and bite marks on its leg.

All of the suspects were taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
