A Reading trio faces numerous charges after a search warrant occurred at the residence they were living at.

Wednesday morning, around 645 a.m., State Police executed a search warrant at a residence at 516 Maple Street.

Officers found four pit bulls at the location, with three of them confined to the basement. The basement consisted of unsanitary conditions as it was covered in feces and urine. There also was no ventilation in the basement.

The pit bulls were voluntarily surrendered and taken to the Berks County Humane Society.

State Police also found marijuana at the home with a street value of $3,200, $1,200 in cash, narcotics paraphernalia and an unregistered firearm.

Carlos Melendez, Emanuel Gonzalez and Vanessa Kindt, all of the residence in Reading, face charges of possession with intent to deliver drugs, cruelty to animals and other charges.
