Pit-bull ban hearings resume

Canada -- A second round of hearings into Ontario's proposed ban on pit bulls will be held Thursday in Barrie.

The hearings opened Monday in Toronto and heard conflicting advice from two mothers whose children were bitten by the dogs.

One was strongly supportive of a ban while the other said she could not support a breed-specific ban.

Meanwhile, a coalition of breeders is threatening to challenge the ban, saying there's no proof pit bulls attack more than other breeds.
