I being a rescuer and not a breeder have different needs. At our shelter we are on the Hills shelter plan and the dog seem to be doing very well on this food. I at one time fed my little red girl Nutro and she liked it and it seemed to like her but because of common since I now feed her the Hills Adult thatg we get for the cost of shipping and she is doing just as well. She has good firm stool and only a couple of them a day and does not try and over eat.
Again I am not a breeder nor do I have active game dogs so my needs are not the same. As a pet owner I have been very happy with wieght, coat and the energy of my pet bulls from both Nutro and Hills.

For what it's worth we feed raw ground beef and raw chicken along with bil-jac (frozen) and Nutro Natural choice chicken and oatmeal, my dogs also get some fruits and vegetables. They love green beans. Sometimes I also give them Merrick Turduken (sp?). Oh and they also get raw bones
