  1. does a spotted nose mean the dog is not pure bred pit? my little Brooks has a red nose with black spots and i was just curious

No, it just means it has a dudley nose, which in conformation can count against you. I have dogs with a nose like that as well...

nothing wrong with that at all ,except in the ring like BBK said.My son has a female that has the same markings on the nose and she came off of a red/rednose and a black brindle.

    rocksteady I'll drink to that..

Dudley is acutally a flesh colored nose but the ADBA lists dudely as an unacceptable term so when registered its a "red" (Pink nose)

A butterfly nose is a nose with different colors

I've had a black nose dog with a streak of white in it and she was getting firsts and seconds in conformation (AADR)

Both UKC and ADBA state noses can be of any color (no disqulaifications listed for noses)

The AADR however states that a dudley (Pink) nose is a fault

The nose you are referring to sounds like what is known as a butterfly nose..a nose with 2 or more colors.

A butterfly nose is a type of "dudley" nose and that is how it is defined.
