you need to branch out with ALL other dog owners.... expeciallly the rottie, doberman, and american bulldog owners...... they are aware if BSL is passed on the APBT... there dogs will be next.

there is 6 potential letters along with a list of your representatives of your area

i have not reviewed these so you might want to check each one out indivually and see what you think would work the best..... might help?

  4. There are several good letters, and lots of information in the laws and legislation section of this forum. For example, http://www.game-dog.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15310 ...but there are several others that may strike a chord. Use the search function as there was also a good letter written by miakoda a few weeks back. That being said, as has already been stated you'll have to ban with other owners to fight BSL. One idea is to start a phone tree. You'll have people on a phone (or email) roster, and when a POC (a city councilman for example) you can rely on all of the members on that phone roster to contact that concilman with an intelligent response. Again there are several threads with more ideas...thumb through the laws and legislation section.

  9. Check out the ADBA website. There's a link with a lot of good info. It appears that your from Ohio. If that is so, you may want to let them know that in October of last year, the Ohio state supreme court ruled it unconstitutional for a city, town, etc to place a ban on any specific breed of dog. They are however allowed to place a limit on the number you may have, require you to have liability insurance, register them with the city. etc. This is some of the information I used when I faced the same thing. Also you can go to the CDC website and pull information on car accidents, gun fatalities, etc. FYI you are 6000 times more likely to die in a car accident, than to be fataly injured by any type of dog, 9000 times more likely to die in a car accident than to be fataly injured by an APBT, and something like 9000 times more likely to be fataly injured by a gun. Good luck.

  10. and by the way, I am still a newbie to this forum. But I am not new to forms or pits. Kanesgame, the original poster came here looking for help, how can criticism such as yours help? It can't. If you can't help, at least try to offer some support. You may find yourself needing help someday.

    My .02 worth.
