Judge temporarily halts enforcement of pit bull ban

    Davenport, IA -- Iowa Council Bluffs' new ban on pit bull terriers is on hold.
    A Pottawattamie County judge has granted a temporary injunction, which prevents the city from enforcing the new ordinance that went on the books on January first.

    A dog owner, Dan Curnyn, asked for the injunction, claiming the ordinance is unenforceable. It requires pit bull owners to carry at least 100-thousand dollars worth of insurance.

    A court hearing is set for January tenth.
