Many false statements about the Pit Bull have been tossed around by the media and others. There are claims the breed can bite with 2000 PSI or have a locking jaw mechanism, that they are responsible for a large percentage of bites or even fatal attacks and are genetically or inherently dangerous. There is no truth whatsoever behind these statements and they have left a hard-to-overcome stigma on this breed.

No matter how many good and courageous acts Pit Bulls perform, no matter how frequently their loyalty, love and intelligence is demonstrated, no matter how many lives they help to save and children they tend to adore, there are still those people who will continue to feel that they are dangerous and unpredictable. These dogs want nothing more than to please their master. Thus the conduct of the dog is largely dependant on the beliefs, conduct and proper upbringing with which they are (or are not) raised. These dogs are at the top of the list of sound, intelligent, reliable, loving, thoroughly desirable, amusing and friendly canines.

We have discussed and debated this issue with many people in the last couple of months and here is what we've found regarding public opinion; Invariably, everyone that supports the ban, is either misinformed by believing ridiculous myths, has never been around any of the breeds covered in it, or just plain does not like dogs.

Fortunately, for some of these people, they've got people like you and I; not just animal lovers, but believers in maintaining our freedom and human rights who can educate them and set them straight with the facts! Make them see why this affects them too, not just Pit Bull owners.
