Hey guys and gals..whats up? well i have a quick question...ok well my dad has a chow and two boston terriers all pretty well behaved dogs, and i have a pit, very well trained and normally gets along with the other dogs, but occasionally him and the chow really go at it, and it usually scares me quite a bit cause they both get really bloody sometimes, and i try to get my dog to stop and its like he doesnt even feel or hear me...you know what im saying..i guess what i wanna know is...is this normal behavior? is it just a jealousy/territory thing? The chow is a yr and the 2 bostons are like 6 or 7, and my pit is 11 mo. almost a yr... do you think it will stop as he gets more mature? I mean it hasnt happened in a while, but the last time it did they were both hurting pretty bad...and it really looks bad when you have a white chow, that's bloody..I hate it..really freaks me out..but lately i've been kinda watching them really closely..just so it wont happen..i guess im just curious to know if any of you have ever had this problem or any advice would be great..thanks in advance.

When you have two dominant dogs like a pit bull and a chow you are just waiting for an accident to happen and it will only get worse as the pit matures.

it most likely will get worse as he matures...he will eventually "turn on" and itll will be even worse then it is now, yes its normal and I can understand your concerned, but worry about the chow more, you might have to realise you got a dog that comes from dogs bred to fight dogs and even if it isnt game bred it can be fight crazy and even a cur APBT can give any other breed a hell of a time...so you might want to keep a real eye out because eventually itll probably end with a white pile of bloody fur if you turn your back at the wrong moment...time will tell maybe theyll become the best of friends but probably not...be careful and I suggest you keep a parting stick handy if you got to let them around each other.... or just start keeping him away...dont expect it to go away...you may never be able to let him around other dogs one day

hes not protecting you or or your dad hes just following his bred in instinct to fight with other dogs and animals, its called prey drive, you need to start making sure when hes around dogs and other animals hes under control or your going to be asking for a real problem one day when he gets ahold of something...

ok...thanks for all the advice...i really do take everything everyone else says seriously...When i got my dog i didnt know any of this info..i mean at least i could have maybe trained him a little bit better...but then again maybe it wouldnt have changed much considering his "drive"..but thanks..any more advice would be great but not really needed..i think i get the point..but seriously if you have any other advice you think i should know...let me know.

Wow. Let me get this straight. You say you have a Pit Bull......that fights with other dogs? I think you should hire a behavior specialist, cause that just don't seem right!!! lol It's abnormal if he doesn't.

What Mr. Man said, it's only gonna get worse from here on out. Gonna have to keep 'em seperated from other dogs, indefinitely.

It is my opinion and what I have also seen in that if you find a "good" trainer who understands the breed you should and need to be able to control the dog on leash. It may do nothing for the agression off leash but when a dog is on leash it should be under your control at all times. If this is a pet dog I strongly sujest proper obediance training. A dog pulling you and snarling (or just being agressive)towards other dogs is not a good picture of or for the breed or what others in society need to be seeing.
I know little of game bred dogs but any dog that is going to be in public around other dogs should be in control and under the control of its handler. I also believe any dog with a brain can be taught the basics of obediance. You have to be the master, alpha and the omega when it comes to your pets.
