I just heard from Clinton, MS and here is a report on the council meeting last night.
The attorney that spoke in Jackson, MS and was able to convince that city not to go BSL, was permitted to speak, representing the dog owners. He was allowed five minutes, of which he used to attempt to convince the council to resend the sections relating to specific breeds. There were several Rottweiler owners present but apparently only 1 pit bull owner there. After the meeting, a Rottweiler owner was talking with the Mayor, she was told not to worry for they were considering removing ROTTWEILERS....but NOT pit bulls.....
The next meeting is in about 2 weeks....I think the 20th, but not too sure...anyway, it is felt that perhaps the council is considering removing the Rottweiler only at this time because of the turn out and since there was apparently on one person there to fight for the pit bulls they simply did not feel the pressure as much....just a thought....
    SO
PLEASE all of you pittie folks plan on attending the next meeting and write letters in order to get the subject on the agenda....This is the most important part....this needs to be on the official agenda in order to open up the meeting for public input and discussion etc.
The main thing is to be POLITE and PROFESSIONAL...remember THEY and ONLY THEY hold our breeds captive in Clinton right now and if you want to own the breed of your choice there..DON'T alienate those that have the power to grant or take that right away from you!....They are listening and it has taken a lot of talk and discussion to get this far...what they now need is for the LOCAL FOLKS to indicate they want the dog issue on the agenda at the next meeting..
    ....
    PLEASE CROSSPOST
