VA: Caroline County man convicted of dog fighting

    CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. – A Caroline County man has been convicted of engaging in and promoting dog fighting. A Caroline County Circuit Court jury recently delivered the guilty verdict for 40-year-old Darryl Lamont Hawkins of Caroline County.

    It was the first dog fighting case to ever be tried in Caroline County.

    The 12-person jury recommended a four-year sentence out of a maximum of five as punishment for the class 6 felony activities that occurred between 2008 and 2012.

    The Caroline County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office praised the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office for their service, stating, “The Sheriff’s officers did a tremendous job investigating this case. Companion animals are at the mercy of their owners, we take any case involving cruelty or fighting very seriously.”

    Charges in this case resulted from a search warrant executed by the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Virginia Animal Fighting Taskforce.

    It would be interesting to now WHAT there evidence is!!! I mean did they catch him actually dog fighting??? Did he have A pit set up??? Or is it all just somebody ratting on him!!! WTF I guess in this sport your guilty if the if the head chignon of animals says you are!! Exactly why the old timers HATED puppy pedelers!!! People getting these dogs just because they have money!!! End up in the wrong hands and across the country nothing but fodder for Corporate Animal Control!!!

    All that man power and effort to convict 1 man for 4 years in which he posses very little threat to our society...........Yet more then 10 children world wide go missing every single fucking day, yet no body seems to give a shit about that, WHY????? In a years time that is over 3500 kids but I guess people feel that the less kids there will help with over population. LMAO
