Bolio Dogs

Whats the best modern day working Bolio blood out there ?

 

Any info would be appreciated.

 

Hamdsome and other crosses, not too many pure lines worth a skip anymore... I would be skepitical of anyone who sells Bolio dogs in this day...

 

tell us why ole pistola . most people would be keeping their bolio dogs to themselves .

 

Not sure what you mean Old Goat,but I dont think any pure bloodline thats based on a famous dog from the seventies is being bred for any more than that, a bolio dog...
Pure Bolio, Eli, JEEP, Redboy, turtlebuster, alligator etc... lines in this day and age are outdated and I question the reasoning behind this???
They all crossed well in the ninties and I dont see them being successful pure is what I intended, the cross is where its at...

 

I agree with this %100. I hate to admit it but I learned a lot of my breeding philosophies from a guy I grew up with who was a very successful chicken fighter. All his brood stock was pure but his stags were three way crosses. He said the pure stuff was garbage and you needed to cross them out to bring out the magic. I kept an open mind with the dogs and crossed lines that I thought would complement one another.

Use just a little Bolio in my breeding's in the Bullgame strain on the Bottom side of these dogs. ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [471564] :: HICKS SCRATCH N FEVER . Try to line breed battle cross dogs to keep & maintain Hy-bred vigor. Some families still work pure, but just personal preference is line bred battle crosses.

 

So what did hick finn and aikya bring to the table?

Decent dogs @ most even then wouldn't say show stoppers or nothing.

So Took Aikya cross & crossed it again 1/2 brother but with Red Boy /Eli & Zebo & gotten Early starters & as a whole, the dogs are "total package dogs" not just tunnel vision dogs you seen more on the Redboy/Eli/zebo side from Mr Bump.

Made a lot better than just Holland's / Clemmons & Reddick's. They were more tunnel vision like classic red boy dogs but more intense or greater Prey Drive I guess.

When crossed with Hot Sunday, Aikya back to Huck Finn, Sire. Was impressed with dogs & good turnout % of litter .

Lug Nut & belly mate Pork Chop Sue Gotten better results. Early starters with strait forward, intense, durable, & Extra mouth than the just strait Maloney / Bolio cross Aikya .
