On a serious note, it was a known fact at that time that he was a 50/50 bred dog. It was not uncommon for people to mix up breeds looking for the next mutation that would beat the Bull and Terriers and Big boy was a product of such a breeding. Over the years he was bred back to the Bull and Terrier stock as were the offspring so the traits that you see in that dog no longer show very often as they were refined out of the Clouse line. Many men told the same story about this dog such as E.C., D.M., E.T., C.C. etc...

His pedigree has been in old books and magazines for many years, peds online was just a easy way to post it... can you show or tell us where your info is from ?

 

Corespondance with Crenshaw, Mayfield, Tudor, Kinard and Collins in which all told the same story, im inclined to believe people who were there especially when they didn't get along, had nothing to gain and all agreed that it was Fact.

Not sure if he was a champion but I like the look of Strider.
