MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A multi-state dog-fighting raid ends in Alabama after local, state and federal law enforcement agencies seize 367 dogs.
"Animals being spared the life of suffering at the end of a chain or at the hands of somebody in a bloody pit, where they'd ultimately lose their lives," Chris Schindler said.

But thanks to federal and local officials, they'll get a second chance at life.

Representatives with the FBI, Humane Society and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals along with federal and local officials held a news conference concerning the national operation, which included Crenshaw, Lee, Coffee and Houston Counties.
On Friday, agents executed 11 search warrants in Alabama. That's where investigators say, they found about 260 dogs. One of the largest sites is located in Waverly, Alabama. There, 114 dogs were seized.

"Today, these dogs are comfortable in the shelter being taken care of by ASPCA and HSUS responders. They're getting the food and water and medical care that they needed and they're finally getting a loving hand from responders who care for these dogs," Tim Rickey said., V. P. of Field Investigations and Response ASPCA. Investigators say they were not having the dog fights at these locations, in fact, they were more like puppy mills. So far 10 people have been arrested on charges of dog-fighting in addition to illegal gambling. Officials expect even more arrests.

"suffering at the end of a chain".........."these dogs are comfortable in the shelter"

LOL My dogs would MUCH rather live on a chain then locked in a jail cell, ask em.

So they weren't fighting just had a lot of dogs?

This is whats gonna happen those dogs are going to rack up huge shelter fees. The owners won't be able to pay the fees so they're going to be forced to turn them over to the shelter. The shelter can't take care of all those damn dogs so they'll be put down. The owners will be slapped with fees in court possibly take a bogus plea deal.

Montgomery, AL - A multi-state dog-fighting raid ended in Alabama after local, state and federal law enforcement agencies seize 367 dogs.

The pit bull terriers were found tethered to heavy chains, many with fleas. For now the dogs have been taken by ASPCA and HSUS responders and they're getting the food and water and medical care.

Investigators say they were not having the dog fights at these locations, in fact they were more like puppy mills. So far 10 people have been arrested on charges of dog-fighting in addition to illegal gambling and officials expect even more arrests.

Representatives with the FBI, Humane Society and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals along with federal and local officials worked together in the raid.

Yea, these dogs instead of suffering at the end of a chain, will now be put to sleep by these so called "rescuers"

Many with fleas huh. Don't dogs get fleas? Fleas must be a crime nowadays.

Our country has gotten so brainwashed by the PC (which, by the way, doesn't stand for "politically correct", it stands for "pu**y code") culture that just showing a yard of dogs is enough to convict someone in the court of public opinion.

"Oh no! Why aren't all those dogs sleeping on someone's bed??!?!? Anyone who would keep a dog outside like that is a monster!!!!"

If people don't remember what common sense is real soon I see them going after hunting dogs, too. By 2016 keeping a dog outside will be a Federal Felony.

Not to mention "...they're getting the food and water and medical care."....no dog appears to be starving to death, every chain spot has a concrete water bowl by it and as for medical care I'm sure they received some when required....it's plain as day so wtf didn't the reporter ask 'why are you doing this then' for starter's because that's where the real story lays.
Instead of having the 'balls' to question the authorities, they chose to succumb and spoon-feed 'Joe Average' some bullshit to go along with his morning coffee.
This is the reason why I don't usually read these cases because they're generally depressing, either involving cruelty or unjustifiably taking somebodies dogs.

I guess now days they can take your dogs for any reason or should I say no reason at all.

    1. Heavy chains? Unless there is a tethering law you can use heavy chains.

    2. Fleas? There is no law against a dog having fleas as more then 100% of all dogs will have some fleas in some point of there lives.

    3. Puppy mills? The misconception that certain groups of people want you to believe that puppy mills are bad/illegal is not true as puppy mills are NOT illegal.

    4. Dogs sitting in 90% degree heat? Where else would they sit in a air conditioned room? LMAO

    5. No fresh water? You see thats a double speak phrase right there to get people to think that the dogs didnt have any water , they most likely had water it just wasnt FRESH LMAO.

    6. No visible food? Some people free feed and some dont its not against the law if you dont free feed your dogs.

    7. Emaciated? Majority of these so called Vets are not experts in the field of conditioning performance animals, if they ever went to a yard of racing grey hounds would they call them emaciated? If you look at the photos not one dog is emaciated as they claim its all bullshit.

    8. Drugs? The guy said its not only about animal cruelty but about drugs. Yet they never mention anything about how much drugs and how much money was found. This is a all too familiar scenario where they dont have enough evidence to seize the persons dogs based on animal cruelty so they have to use the drug charges to do so hence why MAJORITY of these dog busts have some kind of drug charges with them. When one says drugs even some penicillian or prednisone could be considered drugs.

The ASPCA and HSUS have both been successfully sued - for millions of dollars. They seem to exist to make money, and they make money by making headlines like this. But it would be very nice to see more lawsuits against them, as their tactics are unethical.

What else do you expect the HSUS to say other than the dogs have fleas and no food and water and heavy chains on the dogs it's a headline grab for the HSUS and the general public think they're doing a great job of saving the dogs ITS BULLSHIT

And the HOLOCAUST continues, nothing rational about what these H$U$'es and ASPCA'ses are doing, those people don't have a logical, plausible or valid reason for perpetuating this systematic extermination program based on their "philosophy" against these dogs other than that the dogs are their advertising focal point that they use for the purpose of extorting and soliciting money in the form of donations from the public.

This shit makes me sick.. I wish there was more we could do. These bastards take dogs away from homes where they've obviously been cared for and sentenced to life behind bars and very possible euthanasia.
