There are a select few that might actual be able to make a living on the dogs. I am not one of them. This is a hobby that I enjoy doing. I breed to produce winners and yes I will sell some of them but not the entire litter. I do expect the dogs to pay for themselves sometimes. I enjoy breeding and raising the dogs. Everything is for sale. If I don't happen to sell one then that's fine with me. I will just campaign him myself and then someone might pay more for him when he has won 1 or 2. When I do sell one, the money goes right back into them. Buying feed, better kennels, treats, medincine, ect. I don't have inflated prices. I sell and ship dogs over seas sometimes. The money is nice but I definitely am not making a profit.

I like to breed for gameness an outcross for mouth an ability ect. But game is the most important piece of of the puzzle imo.
Not saying just because a dog is game he will produce good bulldogs THIS IS WERE YOUR DOGS DOMINANT AN RECESSIVE TRAITS COME INTO PLAY

wardogkennels....ohpitbulls........you staight that you both breed,....and have explained the rational behind you breedings....i presume you have proven this rational ....so can you shed a little more light on the methodology you apply to a planned breeding , how you isolate dominant and recessive traits ...interested in learning from your knowledge..

Well let me start by saying I dont bred for money hell I dont even sell my pups if i do a breeding it is to improve my yard .
    Here is a simple example.
I own a 7yo gyp that is heavy bred ART that has the ability to win an proven her self worthy of being bred, her DOMINANT TRAITS are ability, smarts, an wind her RECESSIVE TRAITS are mouth an strenth so, my plan was to find a similar bred male who carried these an produced the traits my gyp lacked. I found a male that was worthy of being bred he is an produced hard mouthed strong dogs an he even some of the traits my gyp was not lacking like wind an smarts. :)

and how can you tell what traits are dominant or recessive? Are you going by what showed up in him versus what in common in his parents and grea grand parrents?

ur on the right track just make it easy on yourself. Dont make it so complicated. What did the dogs before him posses and what do they produce? What does your dog posses and what does he pass to his/her offspring. These are the questions you need to ask yourself.
