Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by Marty, Jan 20, 2007.

  1. The fact that he is talking the way he is talking, makes him an 8th grade dropout?

get a clue a*sshole, if anyone is a moron here, its you.

Some of you guys don't have a clue. You all have taken something that was really positive and turned it to a negative. What the guy was expressing was poetry. Urban poetry, That is why he was talking like that. Know the lingo, We all are suppose to be brothers and sisters in this game. But we constantly diss each other. The sad thing is that most of the people dissing him would not say it to that mans face, but rather hide behind a keyboard. Get a grip, They are trying to wipe our breed of the face of the earth. And all that we can come up with is this guy is a 8th grade drop out and he talks funny. If anything get some CULTURE, learn about what is going on around you. He said that there were many celebrities and politcal figures that have owned our wonderful breed. What if he got through to some one or changed some ones mind about how they felt about our breed then the speech was worth it. What are you doing for the breed I wonder? At least he said something. It is easy to come in here and preach to the choir. Be constructive in your thinking, the way you act, and what you say..

well said but i think to some bashing is more fun. but i agree with you we are all in the same fight wether some like it or not. so if we would spend more time working together rather against each for what dog they own i think we could get a lot farther but thats just what i think. what do i know. other than we are all fighting the same fight like it or not. bsl doesnt care what line of dog someone has.

Also, not to mean any disrespect, and I don't know if this is how you meant it Mart. But I don't see what the 'a rapper at that ;)' had to do with anything?

Does him being a performer make his speech anymore different because of what he does? If he were a general store manager would you have put 'a general store manager at that ;)' ??
I think the comment is what sparked Minor's post.

Sorry, just that I'm a musician myself and didn't get that.

I don't have a clue. I couldn't hear all of it, but sounded like he was voting yes for the APBT.

whitebully, I honestly dont anything positive about someone hacking the English language the way he did in hopes of sending a positive message. Who's going to take somoene that speaks like that seriously? How many people outside the rap community can understand what he's saying?

He speaks like someone who lacks education, peroid

What can you not comprehend? His dialect or well put speech of english words rhymed together that can still be understood?

"Discrimination of our nation, publicated through BS Legislation"??

"if you love the dog like I love the dog, then you would start making, the infrastructure of the BSL start shaking until we break them?
Otherwise, they will continue to use the methods of division and seperation within the dog organization.. such basic manipulation. All this hating, men don't hate on men, so why are we hating?" -- the core of his speech.

So, now that someone put it in writing for you, why would you compare him to an (edit) UNeducated person?

Like someone else said on this thread, I would like to see you stand before men and write and propose a speech that 'everyone' can understand.

  9. To make things clear.....I would suport this man because he sayd the trues. And he is not Eddy Murphy but I would supord Eddy also because I love his movies. Hmmm....the black and white BS is over or? Or is this realy still goin on over there?

You're correct, he obviously speaks well and graduated from Stanford with a major in Speech Communication

He might not have graduated from Stanford, but I also highly doubt he dropped out of school in 8th grade, let alone HS.

Maybe Marty put "and a rapper at that ;)" because many of us can't stand rap, so for a good speech to be given by a rapper, a group that doesnt generally impress us, gives it that much more respect. Thats how I read it anyway, you took something positive and tried to turn it negative-exactly what others are accusing members of doing.

someone drank too much HATERADE in the morning. using history and ushering the idea of positive dogmen unity is good for me regardless of how it's delivered. i don't think he cares how someone might think he is not "educated" but rather his message is to those fellow dog people at that bully show and he is empowering them with history but also telling them to be responsible and unite to fight BSL. so if i was singing it in chinese with english subtitles would that be less moving? hahaha. hater's ball is down the hall to the left. let's get united.

It may have looked positive from your perspective, but it looked negative from mine. So it's 50/50. I wasn't trying to propose anything, that's why I asked what he meant.

    Also, not everyone is 'us'.

When you can appreciate something outside your 'norm, how is that negative? To me, that would be the biggest compliment someone can give. Akin to someone hating a particular breeder, yet acknowledging they can breed phenomenal dogs. ;)

Lethal-drop it. Your trying to turn this into something it was not, and are failing miserably. I clearly said "many of us", where does that imply "everyone"? It clearly states the opposite of "everyone", no need to argue it.

that is a real mature way to argue your point lol. maybe in the time it took you to find this video you could have listened to what he had to say and written an email regarding bsl, and been part of the solution to beating it rather than stereotyping people the same way the legislators do our dogs.

You have to look at his audience, too. Those aren't profs or the elderly listening to him. It was his peers. The younger generation (that I'm part of) in general, have a short attention span. We get bored with the formal speeches with all the stats and studies they provide. The way he was preaching it keeps our attention and makes us hang on for more. A perfect example is Tupac Shakur. During his interviews and speeches, he was a well spoken man. He was invited to speak at a couple rallies. He made it clear what he thought with an educated speech.. But in his music, he spoke to the streets. He used the dialect of the younger generations on the streets. He did a fine job speaking to his audience.

Anyway, I don't see how he was hacking the English language. Our "English" is messed up anyway compared to formal "English". Most people call it American now because of that. If I was to assume, I would say that you wrote that first post without listening to him in the first place. My guess would be that you thought Marty was being sarcastic (I did before listening to the man), and just wrote down what you thought he would be like. But I won't assume that...

If you guys like spoken word, watch that Def Poetry with Mos Def. I love it.

EDIT: Nevermind. You can't change the ignorant. But I do have this to say. Look at who a great speaker was over in Germany in the 1930-1940s. I would rather live with this uneducated speaker than the well spoken anti-christ over there.
