Well were not discusing standard of the breed....Ofcourse that is worth a good debate.

I'm just encouraging to practice safe and responsible petbull ownership as should everyone....For those that are throwing this lil BBQ, good for you.....but understand even tho your not a sanctioned club you still have an obligation to this breed to make sure that it is a safe an uneventful....No public casulties

Allowing a human agressive dog w/a muzzle is not ok in public....Shouldnt be by anyones standards. Now if its a case of animal aggresion....well hope they can handle thier animals, encourage folks to make sure they have their parting stick

    Or make them availible.

I'm not saying that folks that are putting this event on are Morons....However there are alot of ppl that are, cause they dont know any better or they dont care. You need to make sure the rules are clear when posting this for a come all.

    BBQ = Famillys, dogs, fun.
    Safety First!

Agreed, but in re-reading the original post, it doesn't say human aggressive dogs need to be muzzled, just says if you think your dog is aggressive. Better to leave such a dog home though rather than bring it into public view muzzled...definitely sends the wrong impression.

I know, here in MA., if you even think your dog may be human aggressive, we suggest that said dog be left at home. (Along with its muzzle).

Good luck with the show. I hope it's a good time/turn out for you.

I see the "muzzle" thing has everyone in an uproar. I wrote the flyer and probably didn't express myself properly. Part due to space constrictions and secondly due to the fact that I ain't the shiniest apple on the tree.

What I wanted to express was that if you THINK there is an issue with your own personal ability to control your dog around others, then muzzle it. I do want "safety first" at the event and we all know that some people who own pitbulls don't even need to nor understand the breed. I have had gamedogs all of my life and for the last six years have had the blues. Why? Because I like the COLOR! So what? My dogs live the life of a gamedog as far as working & conditioning and this will be evidenced at the show. I don't like a pig on legs anymore than the next individual.

C.B............one of the judge's only has gamedogs!

The rest of ya.......relax....we're just going to have some good times & good food and hope you come to join us!

That is a pretty dog. I have a blue way back in one of my lines too. Only one pup has showed any signs of blue and the owner of the sire got her. lol. He fell in love with her at first sight. I had to take her out in the sun light to see it. My eyes got burned in an explosion so inside the house under light bulbs I can't always see color very well. Some times with photo's I have to use the PC in my bedroom to see them well. I have gotten addicted to this lap top. I can go to the coffee shop and the sandwich shop and use it on WIFY And that is the neatest thing to me. Remembering I started out when atari, commador and texas instraments made computers. I am always amazed at how advanced this boxes have become. I would like to see a new picture of him if you get a chance.

I agree when I wear my muzzle in public people walk on the other side of the street and point.

Well in any case, I hope that the only people who show up with their dogs can properly control them around the others... if the need be.

    *a little off-topic*

Someone should invent a pink fuzzy muzzle to take the vicious edge off the look of a pit bull with a muzzle. Maybe not pink, but someone ought to make muzzles that don't look quite so evil.

Just as game bred dogs are meant to work....
These dogs are meant to go to BBQ's! Looks like fun, but I won't be going. Thanks for the invite, I hope it's a ton of fun.

whether the dog is human aggressive or not if it is uncontrollable in any way to point of needing a muzzle why would the dog welcome at a public function???? Just doesn't make any sense no matter how DULL the writer of the flyer may be

I would like to start by saying "Thank You" to everyone who attended the event this weekend for our 1st Bully BBQ. All of you, are what made it possible and made it great!

Special thanks also go out to my partners in this, Dan & Cullen, who put most of the work into this and also to their family and friends who helped out tremendously. Thumbs up to the chef for an excellent meal! Without all of this participation things could have been a disaster. Instead, we had a nice showing of about 60-75 people with a great representation of the breed from all bloodlines and fun was had by all. All the donations to the auction were greatly appreciated. Whomever donated all the homemade "doggie" treats in the cute little bundles, OUR dogs thank you greatly!

It was really great to finally meet some of you face to face instead of communicating over the computer or phone. I've got a special shout out to Jewel of Keg County Kennels & James of Cashville Pitz. It was also nice to see some of our past pups there too. Of course, it was also great to see all of our past friends and everyone else who attended the event.

Everyone in attendance had some great animals and it made the judging very hard in most every category. The results are as follows:

BEST PUPPY - Male: Shannon & "SMOKE"
    BEST PUPPY - Female: Dillon & "J. J."

    1-2 YRS - Male: Cullen & "TITAN"
    1-2 YRS - Female: Robert & "ICEBERG"

    2-3 YRS - Male: Cliff & "GUNNER"
    2-3 YRS - Female: Chris & "BETTY"

    3 & Over - Male: David & "MOSES"
    3 & Over - Female: Aaron & "SMURFETTE"

    Judge's Choice - Male: Edwin & "DUSTY"
    Judge's Choice - Female: David & "CH BOO-BOO"
Best of Show - Cullen & "TITAN"
Best Conditioned Male: Danny & "DOZER"
Best Conditioned Female: Brittany & "MISFIT"

In the Treadmill Race it was really no contest with David Kennedy of Shadie Lady Kennels easily taking the TROPHY & 2d Place with "CH BOO-BOO" & "MOSES". What an incredible performance to see his dogs perform. The track was spinning so hard and fast you didn't know what to look at....the dog....the track....the expressions on everyone else's face....or the way David had those dogs focused on chasing that lure. It was an AWESOME specticle to see. "MOSES" also took the hang time event with a time of 5:00. Congratulations again! A special thanks to them for coming out also. David also heads up the Volunteer State Bulldogger Association (VSBA). Check out their website at http://www.vsbulldoggerassoc.com/ for upcoming shows and events. They are great people and we appreciate them supporting us.

We also want to thank RANSOM Working Dog Supply for attending and bring up all of their merchandise for us. They are located in Lacey's Spring, AL and their webstite is http://www.ransomsworkingdogsupply.com. They have excellent merchandise and fair prices. You can also contact them by email at ransomsworkingdogsupply@yahoo.com.

This show went off without incident and was such a positive showing for our breed. We all assembled in one place from all across three states and brought our dogs together (of course utilizing good ole common sense) without a fight or bite. Pretty cool....huh! Thanks again to everyone for a memory we will have forever.

    JMAN
