whats that guys name that hunts everything with a homemade bow is it tred bartta? i saw him take i big ass brown bear as well as duck hunt. that motherfucker is cold with a bow!!

 

I know a old timer who could shoot a sling shot like no other i ever saw.He used ball bearin.You could throw a penny up in the air and he could hit it every time.If i hadnt saw this with my own 2 eyes I wouldnt have believed it.

I was just asking, we've got a rabid fox in the area hanging around daycares and behind stores so rabies came to mind.

 

They don't but they got fleas so keeping them at bay is always a good thing.

 

So,
I woke up in pain on my left side this morning and was shocked that I missed a tick on myself when hunting this past Saturday. No big deal right? Not this time! Well, I pulled it off and the pain was getting worse and I have the stereotypical bull's-eye so I went today and seen my Dr...

Diagnosis:

Stage 1 Lyme Disease courtesy of a female Black legged tick "aka" Deer Tick. Known carrier of both Lyme Disease and human babesiosis.

A 10 day dose of Doxycycline for me...

oh well I'm a die hard Hunter and will still be in the woods this week hunting away as usual..

damn bro thats some tough ass luck, ive pulled many ticks off myself im surprised it never happened to me. Is it rare around your parts(lyme disease from ticks)?

Its pretty rampant around these parts. Presque Isle is over ran with them and there are many many cases of lyme disease in this area.

 

I almost think that would have been a better thing to have happen. Lol

 

Couldn't be prouder of my lil man. The first day of Deer hunting (Rifle season) we got in our spot at 7:30am and He put the double whammy on his first deer ever at 9:35am on 12-2-13. It may not be a trophy but we don't eat antlers so who cares...lol
It's a trophy to me, as my son will never forget the day he harvested his first buck or who he was with when he took it...


Deer was taken with my Ruger .270 M77 with 150 grains of death loaded into it.....lol

 

Have to admit I'm a little jealous as I never shot a deer. Hopefully next season. Congrats to him.

 

Dam were the hell is all that snow!!!! We got into high 40's today and tomorrow may hit 61!

 

Thanks, it's his 3rd year as a licensed hunter. He's been hunting with me though since he was 5 with our Junior Hunter Mentoring Program. Not too shabby. I've hunted since I was 12 and didn't shoot my first deer until I was 19 or 20.

Northwestern Pennsylvania, smack dab on Lake Erie. We only have 3 seasons here, Snow, Rain and construction..lol

 

I am sure the kids love the hunt AGK..I remember when I was a boy I would get so excited I couldnt sleep the night bfore.We had a camp that was built over a lake..No insulation and only a fire place for heat source .And if you got more than 5 ft away from it you would feeze your nuts off lmao..Loved it though I could never sleep anyway.Just got too excited.

 

I still can't sleep the night before the first day of Archery Season or the first day of the Rifle Season. lol
