That's great. My boy was used as a demo dog for a guy that did protection training. I would love to get him some refresher courses, but most of the trainers down here don't want to work him, LOL. He loves the work though and he goes nuts for a sleeve. I wish i knew a decoy or a trainer that would work with us. It would give me something to do with him that he enjoys.

Why can't you breed him??? You claim that he has proved himself to you, thats all that should matter, there are plenty of pretty papered dogs that have never proved themselves, but they get bred. If your boy has truly "proven" himself, I would think it would be stupid to not breed him, sure you may not be able to PEDDLE pups, but if hes proven his worth, breed him.

If my Stonewall bitches grow up and prove worthy of being fed, I might put him in one of them... then just keep the whole litter, to see what I get.... not sure yet though..... Time will tell....

My boyfriend works decoy for me... Rough job!! Now that Bruiser is getting the hang of it, he is hitting harder and shaking harder... so I dont know how much longer I am going to be able to con my boyfriend into doing it!! They bite harder than most dogs, and usually shake a bit harder too... so I can see why it would be hard to get peaple to put the sleeve on!! I dont blame them!!
I just train... The dogs put me on my ass when I try to catch... ;)

Well to start, I'm not sure who that comment was directed toward, but this is my response.

Just because YOU haven't seen it really means nothing. My dog is perfectly healthy for an 11 yr old. He runs 4 miles with me every other day. Unhealthy how? He doesn't have hip or joint problems, He's not overweight, has no skin problems..... what is it exactly that makes him unhealthy?? Anyway, just because he's bigger than YOUR dog or dogs you would choose to own doesn't mean that he's not healthy, but thank you for your comments. Everyone is entitled to have their own opinions. I'm always up for a healthy debate, LOL.

Just out of curiosity did you even look at his pics.....?!?!? What, by those pics, makes you think that he's unhealthy? I'll put the link at the bottom of the post so you can take a look.

    Just wondering....

Here is a link to Rude's pictures and ped.

Well, i wasn't sure what she meant or to whom the comment was directed, I was just giving a response. I really want to know why he can't be healthy. Surely there is an exception to every rule, right. Anyway, I didn't mean it to sound hostile :) really, just thought it was a broad statement to make saying that just because a dog is larger than the standard, that it's unhealthy.

Just a little friendly debate, please no one take offense, I'm not. Like I said before this is fun I really enjoy hearing what other people have to say about the topic. A persons opinion is not right or wrong, it just their opinion.

    rocksteady I'll drink to that..

I have a 79 pounder (when he's on the chain) and I can get him down to 70. probably less.but I wouldnt trade him for the world . He's as honest as the day long and a darn good dog. He cant help it if he's a bit bigger lol... he certainly wasnt bred to be big but he has what matters most. And he wont be out making 100+ pound babies. Colby's Pinscher was 75 pounds on the chain..it happends ..but it shouldnt be an excuse to breed them just for size.
But i do prefer the smaller dogs myself...

Thanks again to everyone that replied to this thread. You all have some nice looking pet bulls:) . I think its great that people are starting to post there house dogs and such up. Not every pit bull is a competition or show dog some are just our companions.

To claim you have the baddest dog in the country you have to be able to prove it . And thats not really possible in this day and age. Besides that he would run out of breath and lay down in 10 minutes.
