Any one here own any larger pits? I have a chocolate male that's about 95lbs. He's bred Dangerzone/Midnight Cowboy, Redboy. I don't have him on my site because I don't breed or show him, he's just my pet bull.

Jami Long of Southern Bulldogs has one over 100 lbs that is off the Panther line I believe. When I saw the dog come around the corner of the house I thought it was a Great Dane or something lol. He has several dogs that are simply massive to say the least.

  5. i have a female out of boudreaux and watchdog lines..she weighs 79 pounds. she is currently in weight pull training.

The largest dog I have ever had was 83lbs when he was fat & happy. He would drop down to 70 lbs when conditioned. Never worried about his size because he had great wind.

My personal belief is that these dogs aren't supposed to be this big. I have a real problem with people who breed this breed for these HUGE dogs. These dogs weren't supposed to be this big....not saying that there aren't exceptions. Some breed specifically to breed 90+ lbs dogs and they are proud of it. Proud of what?

JMAN IMO by the time they breed for the lg. size they have in effect made AmStaffs not pits. At least not the gamebred type. There are I'm sure exceptions but just that. JMO

I would have to agree with that too. No reason for a Game bred dog to be that big. I would have to say 55 at the VERY biggest

Well.... as far how much he eats, it's about 2 1/2 cups otherwise he gets fat. I use about 100lbs of food for five dogs per month.

I rescued my dog papers and all. I got him at 10yrs old December of last year. The guy that had him was really hard on him. He was used as a protection demo dog and he weight pulled him too. He's a BEAST, LOL. As far as being bred for size I don't think that he was. The rest of his litter mates are between 50-70lbs. He's just a freak i guess. And yes he has two Am Staff in his ped one in the sixth and one in the seventh generation. I just feel lucky that he doesn't have any hip or joint problems, LOL.

I definitely agree that game dogs should not be that big but I thought we were talking about petbulls or at least I was. I was just curious to see what else people had. I know everyone on this board is not a dogman/woman and some people like the big dogs. I don't show or breed my boy, as a matter of fact I don't use him for anything but a pillow doubling as a couch warmer, LOL. Now on the other hand all my other dogs are in the yard waiting to be employed.

Thanks to everyone that replied, this was fun.:)

He started a new thing this morning. He thinks he can climb trees now, it a sight to see. I'm going to try and get some pictures of this.

Heres a pic of Bruiser... Its a pretty old pic... before his keep and hunt... and during the winter, so he is kinda chubby!! He is 73# conditioned... When I bought him, I was told he was redboy/jeep/boudreaux mavrick.. but his papers turned out to be bunk...
so he is now just my 1xWinning house pet and gate keeper... ;)

The baddest dog in the country??? How could you possibly know that? Every dog always has a match out there somewhere...its just whether or not you end up running into that dog. And let me tell ya...Lar~San and Watchdog blood...not what I would consider "gamebred" stock.

Brusier is a nice looking dog.

I found out the correct ped info about my dog when i got him. I was told that he was redboy/midnight cowboy. When I got the ped first things i noticed was two amstaff's and Dangerzone. It's not like it mattered because i wasn't planning on breeding him, but why not tell the truth, right?!? Some people....

I know what you mean... peaple suck!! LOL This man got a pretty penny out of me for Bruiser... He has proved himself here... but unfortunatly, I am not going to be able to breed him... I have him registered with CKC now, but everything for ADBA didnt go through, because the man didnt sign anything, (probly cuz he knew it was BS from the start!!)
Oh well, if anything, I learned something.. and gained some experiance... and an awesome guard dog!! I have been working him on bite work... for personal protection... ;) so far so good!!!:D
