Not all mutts go as you state. Some don't bother with pushing back to front. I've heard of some who actually rest the front end on the opponent. Sounds crazy right. Maybe their is a reason they call it the square. Four sides as in front, back and side to side. Maybe, just maybe, dogs know this and utilize this. Imagine that, a mutt smart enough to use is strengths to his advantage and offset his opponents superior conformation. This doesn't fit into you or tight little conformation spill does it? Man, someone should tell those mutts they don't stand a chance. They should probably do right before they read them their pedigree. Their is no ideal conformation. There are only ideal dogs. Point blank, period, end of story.

Hollinsworths yard which was sold to Wildside and traded to Garner was of average size, males in the forties and females in the thirties...With some low forty females and high thirty males...
The group who bought all the may day hounds had the same weights...
So they are bigg boned with more squar frames but not a big catch weight line like the one you saw...

FINALY A REAL EVALUATION ON THE DIFFERNT SUCCESSFUL BUILDS...
SO A DIFFERNT FRIEND OF TUDORS(NOT MAYFIELD) STATEDTHIS WAS HIS THE BUILD THAT APEALED TO HIM BECAUSE IT GOT EARL MORE WINS THAN ANY OTHER... IF ANYBODIES WORD THAT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER...
    TUDOR TOPS THE LIST...
MR. MAGNOLIAOTIS knows truth and it must not be from the adba con shows or the dog of the month club...
Picture an ideal OL'Henry build head down into the other dog with a good hold on the front, HIKING the dogs front taking it off its balance and proper footing and making their fancy ass dance...
The dancer is HIKED/ MIKE TYSONED up and thier wieght dangels using gravity to keep them in the bear trap thats hitting like a springed coil punching up and letting them fall...Gravity does alot of work and the OL'Henry dogs whole body is distibuted thru thier mouth...The fancy dancer is depending on that mouth because the rest of the body is in costant suspesion...
Is it the ideal build for a perfect athlethe ,NO...Thats why the confirmation build is the most athletic...
Is it the ideal build for whipping a perfect athlete at its number one task??? THE BOX TALKS...
Is this OL'Henry build the most ideal for modern wieght pull??? Go ask the Crazy Source as he gets his info from...

Good point, as well as Mayday and his sire Yellow...
Those are the ones most know about, I seen wildsides yard video when they were selling all the rest in which they mention the weights...
The Mayday dogs outcrossed or bred back to the yellow blood thru bigger animals also...
When mayday was bred to Hollingsworth, other Bolio/Tombstone bitches and his daughters they got smaller and smaller and had alot females in the low thirties and males in the high...
Thats what makes me think the smaller ones are leaning on the Hollingswoth side of the ped like the those at Wildside.
Another topic is the sloppy builds that come from the yellow dogs that started this thread...
Is it me or Is it orgin that makes me believe that there has to be some type of hound dog crossed to those ugly mofos... I lived in the carolinas for long enough to become a believer that those take bottem hounds came from some the old local hound dog nitro...Hargrovesnever liked redboy dogs and said when he was a kid they used to fight those old hound bulldog crosses(plotts/mtn.curs/cracker curs etc..) and then go hunting with them...
He said he never seen one win but most were gamer than alot of the pure bulldogs around...
This comment made me believe Redboy/yellow to not be bred exactly as shown...
Hence THE ONLY RED COLBY dogs alive in which IronMike seems to think is a tight Hemphill dog...
Which also due to orgin could be partiallly true as Bob Hemphill reigned from that area also...
I like to think that the redboy dogs are made up of three parts...
1.The original Colby edigree to some % or another as their were alot of colby dogs there
(Lopoasy,Cottens Bullit etc..)Maybe the reason it nicks so well with the dibo dogs as history proves...
2.The Hemphill factor of extremely game red dogs from the same area...
3.The fact they been crossing bulldogs to hound dogs for over a hundred years in that area and well...
You ever heard a yard full of redboy dogs??? sounds inbetwen hounds and bulldogs, destructive as hell and seem more detached from humans like most hounds used to hunt...A good hound will run its heart out and once the body gives and the mind continues, that is gameness... and believe it or not alot of hounds have alot of heart...
Food for thought anybody have any thoughts on this subject???

A good observation I can agree on...Red Babys look came from the dams side of pure Clouse hounds...
When that was bred to the Tombstone stuff they really got that hound look evan more...
The Tonka Bear dogs that were sold to WarEagle looked very houndish also...
Now observe Red Babys build, same as alot of the Otter dogs due to being hybrid Clouse...
Red Babys build was lower in the back as alot of her offspring...
Dirty mary and her offspring were fine examples of this type build also...
The build that started this thread deffinatly came from the carolina hound Ol'Yeller and the Redboy hounds...

I truly do not belive there to be any black mouth cur or plot hound in any of these dogs just to clarify

You havnt been to the carolinas then...
Learn the history of these other hounds and how they are inerwoven for the last hundred years...
In the south before the seventies they did not care about nothing but a good hound dog to hunt with and to wager an occasional bet on...What worked for them is what ate, and like the wild the superior ones bred together forming a natural selection...Hargrovess was friends with Chavis Fletcher and both agreed Chavis yard was just like all the neighbors yards that owned plotts and curs...All of Tants yard looked alot like BM curs and plotts more than bulldogs...Carolina kittens(Marlowes) Yard also resembled these so called Colby dogs of yesteryear...
Now look at all these sloppy hound builds that the Redboy dogs deliver...
Tater also had the clouse hound ears but he had the perfect confirmation like Bolio...

The tater dog does look alot like a BM CUR just like the picture of yellow, but when he stood uo he had perfect confirmation, A TRUELY PERFECT DOG IN MY EYES...
trust me when I say in carolina, stranger things have hapened...

Well I still have to disagree sir I don't know for sure however I'd like to belive that the looks we have In the apbt today comes from non other then the working apbt and no black mouth cur or plot

  18. ELIAS'PISTOLA

I can value your opinon as I used to think the APBT was a pure bred dog for a hundred if not two hundred years...
After further studies and travels I came to conclude nothing pure is really that great, and evan if its one dog twenty generations ago that a hound was unpurposley or thoughtful bred to the redboy line for example...ORGINS...
Look at the dogs That the late great Kominsinski bread, if some one ruled out the WALTER WHITE THEORY of gamedogs being bred to other working types...ORGINS... again his neighbors bred the english bullterriers and all a sudden "MUTT" popped up, definatly a THROWBACK...
    ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [4251] :: STEPHANY'S MUTT (KOMOSINSKI'S)
Now my theories are just that, the true heritage of the last 125 years is as questionable as the 125 years before that...
I do believe ORGINs play a big part in the History of these dogs and I believe they tell more truth than man...
Dont have to agree but we cant rule it out...signed-anthroBULLDOGology...
