Gyp?

Last time I started a thread asking for clarification on a term, it exploded. I hope this is less of a controversy, LOL.

What does "gyp" mean when referring to a dog?

 

To my understanding it means an unbred female. Although it gets thrown around in other contexts a lot too.

 

Unbred and untested female.

 

Cool, thanks! If anyone else has any further possible definitions, please continue. I've heard the term used since I first started getting really into the breed, but only once in a while.

 

Took me a little while too, lol. I pretty much thought that is was the equivalent of a heifer.

Now how do you pronounce gyp? Like "Jip" or "G-Y-P" or "Jeep"?

Hehe. That's what I was thinking. Gyp like "I just got jipped." Really took me back to errr... middle school? LOL.

 

Untested and unbreed. I think Rockys Human got it right on the nose.

yep y'all got it right it means a untested unbred female,even though it gets trown around and used in a lot of diffrent ways thats the true meaning of the word.
