Thanks, Naus. I appreciate that. I'll look into both and compare all of the options.

I tried River Run a couple of different times as my wife's family farmed and they all used a family friend's feed/farm store. I tried it but all my dogs could shit thru screen wire. Never could get a solid turd. Not sure why. I know several who use it and are happy with the outcome.

My brother in law uses it and runs his dogs hard on the outside for fox and coyote. It keeps them up just fine.

    Again, best of luck.

Appreciate the added input, slim. I meant to show my gratitude towards your good luck comment in your first post and it slipped me as I was typing and I thought of it while I was just outside working. I appreciate the well wishes from you. I'm pretty sure I'll stick to Victor, just a more affordable formula but I'm definitely open to any and all options.

Due to my isolated location it leaves my options pretty slim (no pun intended) so the local feed stores will be my first option. Second option would be the TSC about 30 mins from me. Any further than that and I'd have to be getting a great deal to make the travel worth it.

    Thanks again.

River Run didn't do well for me either. I used Marksman and it was 28/18 and local feed store had it. Lol I remember in the 80's my granddaddy fed a brand called Sunshine Rations they sold it at Jitney Jungle!

  8. Their right diamond all natural large breed is tha best on a budget also if u can afford it get them on an raw egg redgiment. I have a 5month old male fawn that eats only 4oz of food a day and 2raw eggs shell and all and he's already 50lbs and ripped. Would upload a pic but apparently every pic I take of him is too big to upload

And for what it's worth dick head, I did suggest multiple budget minded feed. What I feed is NOT budget friendly, so why the fuck would I suggest that?

  10. Diamond all natural large breed is tha best on a budget and a raw egg regiment which is cheap had tha best results. Got a 5month old male fawn now that is already 50lbs and only eats 4oz of food a day and 2raw eggs she'll and all

Most of the smaller dog food companies/mills have territories so sometimes feeds are a long drive away. Contact them about delivery. Once upon a long time ago we used Chestnut Mountain brand feed. Again, cheap feed but it bridged the gap between raw and the calories they needed. (I have fed cheap shit in the past so I guess I will have to turn in my card, LOL).

Contact Victors or whoever you choose about delivery since you are out there. On average the price drops about a dollar per 10 bags purchased. Their pallets had 40 bags. We saved about $4 per bag. It was three of us going in so we just split the tab and tried to 'run out' close to the same time.

Another option, buying it by the pallet.

Anyway, best of luck. My numbers have 'snuck up' on me as well. It is part of the addiction process. LOL.

Why feed large breed food to a medium sized dog??? And we aren't looking for a feed that will pack on pounds lol

This is what i do as well. The 24/20 ratio is good and I could care less what everyone else thinks about the brand.

    Good post Slim....as usual.

I think the best bang for the buck is Diamond Naturals its decent feed and IME the dogs look great on it. Most folks compliment how their coats look/feel. As somebody stated if there is a Costco around the Kirkland is made by Diamond http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/kirkland-signature-dog-food/ . I am blessed that I have a friend that I get deals on feed by the pallet. Torn bags...ect. I usually trade him fish for it.

As long as your dog aint got any allergies or immune problems you can basically feed your dog anything. When it comes to feed some people get all taboo and say oh you cant mix kibble with raw or you cant mix two or more different type of kibbles together is just plain nonsense. lol You can feed your dog a variety of foods including table scraps and nutritional supplements like fish or salmon oil, multivitamin, creatine , and even antioxidants etc, etc....

Yawl know whats so sad about our country? We are one of the most WASTEFUL country in the entire world when it comes to food.....Do you know that majority of all grocery/food stores and establishments throw away hundreds of TONS of expired food every single week?....There are some homeless/poor people that would wait for them stores to throw away there food in the dumpster behind there store and dumpster dive and take all those foods, BUT the stores caught on and now most of them LOCK there dumpsters so no one can take the expired food that is still edible. Instead of giving the food away to charities to help the hungry they rather just throw the food away and take a loss. Its so ironic that we live in a world where there is a epidemic of both OBESITY and STARVATION going on at the same time.
