AGK where you at? They don't let me shoot "song-birds" here. They complain if I shoot Ground Doves and Turkey vultures. They say the State likes vultures cause they clean up
the road-Kill. And that doves are a "song-bird" which ain't true...yeah they "coo" but they don't sing shit! I never asked about Starlins, but I do have them
    here...and would enjoy shooting them.

Well David, she caught me with another chick.... On Valentine's about 4am covered in chocolate and whip cream. Didn't help she knew the broad either. She didn't stab me intentionally unless she's a fucking ninja( threw knife at me from like 8 feet away)

Absolutely. It's one of the few birds I hunt. They wait till your damn near on top of them and then take off like a helicopter. Lol got to be quick with the shotie lol. I use a semi auto when we go. Been a few years though since I went. Me and wardog went pheasant for the fist time this past year. That was a lot of fun to. Been more fun if we had dogs to flush them though. Lol.

Ok ,it's different here as we hunt them in fields that has been planted or baited them in.The field then has to be disked under for the hunt to be legal. We shoot them out of the air ,late evening when they come in to feed. Some very high altitudes and some tree top level..Now the style of hunt your speaking of is how we Quail hunt down here, other words from ground up to air and shoot .You need bird dogs for Quail and it's a beautiful experience ,bird dog points and we flush and shoot.Quail is a awesome tasting bird and we also do pickled quail eggs which is 3 times better than pickled chicken eggs. The meat is good and the eggs are very rich and delicious.

Shit you want to get scared?? Try Grouse hunting! THEY take off like a copter! My wife shot a Turkey with a 110 GR broad head and that bird flew
all around skewered. After that I started tying fishin' line to my arrows. When I hike with my dog we flush up some Wood cock
once in awhile. never shot one though. My friend shot a big (stocked) pheasant once and gave it to me.
I cracked my tooth on a shot-gun pellet. Copper! I only shoot birds with a.22 now. In the neck.

I've been shook a few times walking into brush when it was still dark in the morning and a grouse or woodcock take off like 3 feet in front if you. Lol

Our doves are pretty small too bama. About half the size of a pigeon. We walk the grape fields and they flush out when you get about 15 to 20 feet from them. Usually it's several birds taking off at once. Good time shooting them.

To the OP. I hear Thompson Kennels is putting all good ones out there.

Could also get anything off of Vise grips Silverback. It's said he was a 100% producer meaning every dog off him is a world class dog. Lol
