Will there be issues with the apbt wanting to fight, even if they are brought into the home as a pup

There is a lot of variables to this question. It's not black and white, that's for sure.

Like sicc said, there a lot of variables. Is this a game bred dog or a BYB street version. If the APBT is performance bred you'll have a problem maybe 97% of the time if I had to put a number to it. If the other dog is a smaller breed I wouldn't even risk it. In my expierence, and I actually do have plenty of it in this particular area, it won't work way more times than it will work. It really just depends on the individual dogs. I have been successful with it one time in 20 years, the rest ended up getting into full blown fights in my living room, kitchen, bedrooms you name it. Good luck. I don't even waste my time trying it these days.

AGK is on point. I also have experience with this. Every pair of female dogs(APBT or other working type dogs) I have ever seen get along together, at some point in their lives they went to all out war against each other. And once that happens there is no going back, they don't forget. I have two APBT bitches, two and three years old. Even though everything I have seen has taught me not to try, I have tried with these two because one I won't breed and the other if I do it won't be till she's four or older. When I say try I still mean I take all precautions like not being allowed together when I'm not home or unattended, no rough play that escalates into testing each other, and no interaction with any dogs when in heat. And after 2 years of being together and not yet getting into a fight, I have come to the point that I don't even want them to play under my supervision. Why? Because even without getting into a fight they are APBTS and naturally they are rough as hell with each other. Now that they are mature just simple playing leaves marks and scrapes just like a scar and the hair doesn't grow back. I don't work my dogs I just show them at this point in my life and I really have no good excuse for my dogs being scarred up so like AGK said it's really not worth wasting your time.

My son has A gyp he raised as A puppy, with A little terrier mix weighs maybe 10 lbs. the little dog always has A bad attitude, jumping on the pit, she dosnt bat an eye, but that might be the exception! It would be pretty much an individual basis! They are both over 5 yrs. old and never A incident! BUT another dog comes around she go's crazy!!

I have an AMbully who is almost 8 and has no DA at all. I brought in an APBT at 9 weeks and I have to keep a close eye on them. For the most part they are fine when supervised but I never leave them out alone or leave with them out. The APBT is always crated. They sleep together with me for naps, but that is it. The APBT, you can tell wants to bite bite bite but since he has been with the older once since he was 9 weeks, he kinda holds back I think, but he is still young. It just depends I guess. They are all wired differently, like people are. But as many have said before, always expect a real APBT to fight, even for no reason at all. I do think, in my case at least, that having the pup at 9 weeks with the other dog helped a little. So he is "good" with my bully but not so much with any other dog I have noticed.

  7. With all due respect, if anyone needs to ask this question then that spells trouble imo. Any dog that you call an APBT will at one stage or another go into battle with anything on four legs, pretty much all the time. Yes, there are exceptions and some will post stories of famour ch or grch living happily ever after with the couch poodle, but more often than not, for the majority of us that poodle will be rag dolled to fcuk at some point or another. Be careful.

King's Gr Ch Kid (RIP) was very balanced with the other petdogs of mr.King's. He has posted several pictures with smaller dogs around him and Kid was not even on a leash!
