it wasn't an American bulldog used. It was a bulldog. There was RUMOR about dick bruiser or his sire being the sire. why do that when you have a whole yard of freeman bred dogs(if i remeber right) and an imported old strain ddb? Real easy to claim you had the sire to the sire of the most famous pull dog ever when the breeder was beaten to death without saying a word. Look back further. Look at parkers bouncer. That's the original wtf dog in this scenario. I was also was told that ed Eddington was approached at an adba show and asked if whoppers ped was 100% correct and Eddington looked him in the eyes and said yes.

not busting your balls but what you posted to my extensive research with breeders of the lines and intense personal research it comes back to Eddington had the ddb and a yard of bulldogs that would definitely cross and produce a dog like whopper with no ab blood needed. It's also cold fact Eddington never admitted to how HE bred whopper or any of whoppers offspring before his death so nothing was admitted. It's all hearsay.

I could see those dogs being DDB x APBT crosses and not DDB x AB. That Bouncer dog is a wtf too, you are correct. That one pic makes him look like a bull mastiff. I have nothing against the cross dogs, I have some myself, Just not traditional APBT. good luck with yours

 

Very true nice dogs but definitely not apbt. Bouncer should be the dog talked about more than whopper for sure. Didn't mean to sound dickish or condescending. I will probably always have a whopper type dog on the yard but my true love quickly became bulldogs once I got one.

 

My only thing was them trying to pass them off as real pitbulls and I find it funny that all the famous big bullies like the duke,,, chevy,,, ghotti,,, dax etc... and kennels like razors edge finally quit hiding there "other yard" full of mastiffs,,, boxers,,, french and english bulldogs,,, are all admitting that thier dogs are in fact not pure pitbulls as they tried to convince themselves of originally...

The man that bought out camelot had daschund crosses on his yard that he claimed were from an accidental breeding but we all knew they were more of a experimental breeding that the next generation were probablly passed of as pure camelot dogs...

I was against the idea of breeding other breeds to our fine bulldogs but come to realize if you do it for working purposes and not looks,,, thats how the breed was developed and adds more work ethic to to other breeds than an imigrant worker does,,, ans as I always mention I think these big bulldogs are the some of the best...

M.t. avant(the owner of ch bullshits brother) had bulldog, mastiff, and believe it or not basset hound xs. Billed for the super short east west front legs and long swayed backs with ridiculously wide chests.

 

After living in the carolinas for a bit,,, I believe you as the bulldog hound cross is atleast a hundred and fifty years in those parts and two type come from it... gritty hunters and the solitere type that would even kill other dogs,,,
as MrHargorve put it,,, alot of those hound crosses were gamer alot of bulldogs,,,dogs like jocko,,, redboy and yellow john look like the dogs he grew up fighting,,, stupid game and always scratching down the trail...
he also commited he didnt have much of any redboy dogs because they reminded him of those plott and curcrosses
he was acustom too when he was young,,, they were loud as hounds come feeding time and he liked the more quite bulldogs that mr finley had before he moved to georgia and met all the georgia stronghold of dr kimsey woods,,, the ab bros,,, mr hyde,,, james crenshaw and irish jerry whom he said way back then was nothing but trouble... In his travels he back to the carolinas he fused the mr finleys bo with the rascal ex honebunch gyp to get his ACE OUTLAW,,, I was lucky enough that he was also in my homestate when I was young man as he was a contractor building a big house and I first met him then not knowing that later I woud be working in his home state and wasnt gonna not miss a chance to pick an ear of a legend and I learned he was truley a product from his enviroment and understanding his origin and these dogs he talked about was truley like understanding how popcorn sutton
moonshined the gap inbetween the corvinos/capones of the past and the asswipes that got him in trouble and hats off to him for scratching silent for his cultureand not rolling over like a cur,,, and not taking the hound route off barking up someone elses tree...

I changed the lingo back and for those whom might understand the southern culture of bulldogs and yes,,, hounds...

The man across the street from my dads house has one.My dad has a big red mut which is mutt on top and rotti on bottom and he free roams his property.I was over at my dads house one day and he wasn't home and this big ass pitbull looking dog comes up , this is the first I ever saw.I'm thinkin this is the biggest dam bulldog I ever saw and about that time my dads mutt charges him, I said fuck this I ain't breakin it up .I don't think it lasted but about 3 mins , dads mut curred him.Now everytime that dog breaks loose he comes back for more with same results..He is about 90 lbs and a intimidating figure but zeroe heart.I later found out that this dog was one of those camelot bullies , guy was showing me the papers on him and told me he was a pitbull.I have never told him no different.

 

Watching TV the other night and A Humane Society ad came on they had all the sad violin music A kitten that looked wormy, and showed how they just saved A 100 lb. pit bull from the pitt! These guys are having A field day with any dog that looks intimidating! These F%&@king commercials give me gas!!!

 

that's the majority of them. The ones with heart are few and far between but when you see it got damn is it impressive.

 

I bet it is impressive. .And I should have stated I am not trying to lump all in one category..The dog I did see wasn't in no kinda shape as he was kept in a pen and was over weight.My dads dog free roams and even has a swamp he swims himself in so he is in pretty good shape..If the other dog was shaped , who knows..Still a cur though , but he may go long enough .

 

Another line to add to this mix is the Dangerzone line. They were rough hog dogs that could catch with the best of them. Never owned one, but liked them very much.

years ago at an adba show,,, a lady somehow managed to pull the van right into where the arena where the dogs were being shown,,, and we dont know if she either lived in or traveled in this van to the show as she was disoriented and opened the door and all her white trash fell out of the van including her rolls,,, some fast food wrappers and a big bad mean looking mfer,,, a dogmen was quoted to say here we go and this big catchwieght handsome devil dog scratched right into... ,,,, .....???
please guess as we later found it to be an eddington bred dog and also come to find out alot dogs this mans bred were known for this practice...
