Scottish Independence

Was wondering if they're any Scottys on the board and what their opinion is of events taking place in relation to the independence vote. I honestly don't know what to think, except that I'm really surprised. This story just popped out of nowhere, LOL! If Scotland gains independence it'll be a huge defeat to England. Crazy stuff!

I did see Braveheart and remember it being a very good movie. But it is Hollywood after all, so who knows how accurate any of that stuff is. One thing I have been reading in the news lately is all the nonsense going on with Britain's Labour Party (ie. Rotherham scandal). Does that have anything to do with Scotland wanting independence (in addition to all the historical stuff, like in Braveheart)? One thing I do know....don't believe anything you hear in the mainstream media anymore (especially if it's something happening in another country). Media just tries to whip everyone into a frenzy, so that we're all at each others throats. Not to mention distorting the facts to suit their narrative. I do hope the voting/result goes down peacefully.

Braveheart is based on actuall events, but we all know hollywood changes things for the screen. Though the overall theme is on point.

I'm closely related to some Scott's. I like to call them Scottsican's or Mexish. LMAO! Their blood traces back to the Clan Sin Clair, I have some old papers bearing their sheild and info about their clan from Scottland. They belonged to their grandfather & some from their uncle. Both full Scottish, Wares was their last name.

No shame in wanting to be sovereign and letting your own kind decide their fate.

I'm happy to hear they voted "No."

If they voted yes, they'd be hurting. No military. No economy. No power. Loss of jobs. Maybe after time, they'd be ok.

Since they voted no, they are supposed to gain power in the UK.

And lol @ using Braveheart as a basis for anything.

 

I,m from Scotland, there were too many unanswered questions for me to vote yes. In the end the no's won quite convincingly , in my opinion it will definetly happen without a doubt , when voters have more information about how much control over their resources etc they will have.

 

I wouldn't say convincingly. 55%-45% is pretty darn close, considering it's a first turn out.
