Boomerang was a fine dog. One of My families favorites. And your right, there was tons of dogs back then without TG blood. But since TG has hit the scene...that's a different story. A lot of winners now days are heavy TG blood. The amount is fairly impressive. But yes I know plenty about Boomerang even though he was shown by my grandfather in the early 70's... and I wasn't even born yet. My Grandfather said he was one of the best and was proud to have fed him. He's one of if not "the" dog that gave my grandfather his name.

your right tg dogs have a good record but there are the same lines doing the same thing today . the only difference is you hear about tg more because he sales to the public . the cross he did with D.Paynes scooter red was a very good 1 . but he should only have half the credit for that because he bought her just to bred her . now i just don't know why your family did'nt put you in touch with the boomerang blood because i would of jumped on that in a second . they are still some of the 1's that get things done . i don't see the difference in chinaman and boomerang . to me boomerang puts out the iron trap .

I have access to that blood. I even had two of the family bulldogs myself that I inherited when my Great grandfather EJ passed. My Uncle still runs the family hounds down in Florida. Not in a big amount I can tell ya that. I'm talking a litter a year if that. He's fairly old and just can't keep up with a lot of rambunctious hounds. My Grandfather got me my first pup off Gr Ch Art. Why he did it at that time I didn't know. Especially when he had world class dogs. I was 14 yrs old at that time. Then I purchased my own line bred Art bitch and went from there. I didn't get into Chinaman dogs until a few years ago. For some reason I was so drawn to Chinaman blood and Chinaman himself. Them pictures of him all leaned out and the story behind him sold me. I asked my kin and they spoke highly of Chinaman. He was just a damn fine specimen of a bulldog. Plus the Art dogs I had were getting up there in age by that time...and..Art wasn't bred a lot so I was having to cross more than I liked. I just wanted to be different I guess from what my family was doing. But the reason why my Grandfather got me a Art pup...well he said he wanted me to figure out how to breed these dogs and start from scratch. He said I would have never learned shit just taking his family of dogs and sticking them together. Makes sense to me now.

Tennesee what you think of the Sorrells Boomerang blood.Or what did your grandad think?

You talking about Sorrells Miss Boomerang? My family really doesnt bash anybody on what they did with their own dogs but I think my grandfather would have done it a little different. I'm not a Sorrells guy... but that's just me. I know there are folks who swear by it though. I mean he has produced some nice dogs though. But it's like me running Chinaman blood..I'm sure TG would have not made some of the breedings I did...but it's my vision with my bulldogs not TG's...even though I highly respect him. And if I do breed...it's to improve or add to what I got. And I try to stay true to the Chinaman "type" and not screw up all of TG's hard work.

does your uncle not want you to help him ? i seen some good chinaman dogs and some bad . but the art dogs that was something i would have never lost either . there's plenty of got art blood . man i woulld walk to 1 to breed to if i had to . what did your art dogs show you the most ? it would'nt take long to get everything in need from them . tell me do you know much about the Duhon dogs ? hell i would of worked to them to . chinaman for me just never had what you need to stay the long hall . but some would surprize you and show real game .

Well I ran Art for almost 20yrs. And they were game as hell. Gamest damn dogs I ever seen. Damn near wild! They was smart...definite thinkers. I had Art dogs until last year. My Last two passed of old age. The last two that were tight anyway. I know where some of my pups are at and I can get that blood anytime. I never talked with my uncle about help...do to we are just to damn far apart and il be honest...we don't always see eye to eye...And not just on dogs. If I ran his Boomerang dogs he would be trying to tell me what the hell I need to do with them dogs all the time. Lol. Hell with that.

to me bert did really good with the boomerang blood . his dogs are more consistent that tg. and they have what that old blood that finishes . how did you like the art dogs temperament ? 20 years you should have what the art dogs are know for .

Tennesee you saying you wouldnt have bred Miss Boomerang to Koehlers Bull?

You talking man biters? Nah...a few excite biters but no just down right aggressive man biters. They all had ability and mouth though. And as far as sorrels being finishers...I've heard...but a good Chinaman dog ain't no joke either man. I like dogs that finish. We all do. And I wouldn't want a program full of bulldogs that didn't finish ya know.

Oh lord.. I don't know the dog personally or seen him in person so it's all a matter of speculation. But I think Bull was a great producer. He was half brother to Bolio and I like Bolio crosses. Bull did produce some good ones and he himself came from good old school stock. I would have probably made the breeding myself. But that's knowing the facts of how he produced so it's hard to say pretending to be blind to the facts we already know.

you know koehler's bull was something special . bert bred around him and made it work it so many ways . that's a breeder that can work with so many good dogs and have something that can carry still today . you know art dogs are known bite you and anything that got in their way . you had to be real careful with what you did . but i don't know about being smart lol i just seen that they did'nt care if they took to much damage . but they were years ago to .

But I agree...Burt's put out some fine consistent bulldogs. I just never had hands on with them or used them as crosses.

Well I had a super smart Bitch and she seemed to pass that along. She was one of the smartest Bulldogs if not the smartest I ever owned. So a lot of my pups off her was real smart. The males...pups that weren't off her...well that's a different story lol....especially the males. A few where complete bone heads and ruff ass bulldogs. They were hard keeps. Your lucky if they still had a damn tooth in there head by age 5. They chewed bricks..rocks..chains...all types of shit. But suckers were tuff and ruff as hell.

  18. TennesseeGame

    TennesseeGame Big Dog

And your right...they take a punch to give a punch. It was hard to hurt them hounds. Tuff as nails. Added brains to that and you had a good recipe. That's why I bred my smart bitch more often than others.

Bro that ain't true lol just because they don't jump on every ceaser thread online don't mean that people don't vouch for him. People that have seen Ceaser and his kids knows that there the truth. :18,:32,:27,:32,:32,:48 and went in as a replacement DOA :32. GTO don't even count that as a hunt but prizes was handed over that night. 2 kids of Ceaser's kids went out and won (Nookie Thompson in :11) and 1 was ducked this past week. Those who know know's.
